Steve Carrell as Hammy one of the funniest characters! Bruce Willis as RJ I think this is his first comedy. William Shatner as Ozzie he rocked! I love Dreamworks work like Shrek, Shark Tale, Antz, Galaxy Quest, Shrek 2, Madagascar. And I hope they have a Over The Hedge 2! Was this review helpful? I loved it, too! Maybe it really was the best movie of the year. My favorite character was the skunk!

The plot was slow. Bruce Willis is the self-centered racoon that needs to pay back a hungry bear for stealing all his food for himself. I dont blame the bear. So he gets a group of animals to do all the work for him, without them knowing. The Group of animals an anal-retentive turtle, a high ADD squirrel, a skunk whos supposed to have attitiude, and a porcupine family. The only funny thing was that guy....you know, the dad possum who liked to play dead. besides than it was lowsy. Was this review helpful? I seriously thought it wasnt just going to be about a freeloading racoon and a overly-agressive bear. Thats what it really was about, the turdle, two possums, and the squirell were just his crew to find food for him

When the animals crossed the hedge, the funnyness begins. This mean lady calls a gangster to kill them, but she is crazy. They all die in the end of epileptic attacks. Eminem sings the main brothers song, but he had no chance of being better than Bruce Willis because too much confusion happenend in the place where they encountered the hedge. Genuinely funny to all ages, with enough double entendres and silly humor to keep a person laughing throughout. Before going to see it in the theatres, I did read a lot of reviews for the movie on a lot of websites, this one included. So, basically I was assuming that there would be a very weak plot that ruins the movie. Okay, I will have to say that the plot is simple but when you are going to see a comedy that is animated, you dont really need a complicated plot that takes too much time to figure out. With that being said, I think the best part of this movie is that it is really, really funny consistently throughout the film. Not once was I not laughing. That is pure entertainment in my book. As usual the characters that steal the show are the ones that are not considered lead characters, for example Hamey (spelling ?). He is simply hilarious! Also, Wanda Sykes character Stella is minimal, but when her character is put front and center, she runs with it and no one else would be able to pull it off! GO SEE THIS MOVIE, YOU WONT BE SORRY. I went to see this movie with my mom and I was not disappointed.It is now my favorite animated movie. I was laughing every minute. The humor is is for kids and adults alike. I think the humor directed at children will delight even parents too. One thing about my mother is that she always walks into the movie with not the highest expactations, but she always walks out saying she was entertained. This was no exception. The graphics are incredibly realistic. The voices were great. I really liked Steve Carells voice as Hammy the Squirrel. The funniest scenes involve him saying something. I also liked Bruce Willis as RJ, too. I will buy the DVD when it comes out. Or more specifically, my mom will. I dont think Ive ever seen a better movie Was this review helpful? It has a wonderful cast of characters with a banter that is a little different then most kids movies. It takes an interesting look on the suburbs and the writing is as funny as it can be. This movie is a good length that isnt drawn out or bogged down with too many life lessons, it is just an enjoyable movie that is fun for the kids and also for the adults.
