Date  Helpful Rating 0 out of 0 users found this helpful  OCTOPUSSY (1983)Posted: 6/20/2006A review of Octopussy by Rockdude_91 The 13th installment of the series pits the suave James Bond 007 (Once again played by Roger Moore for the 6th time) against the elegant Kamal Khan and a crazed Russian generals nightmarish plot. OCTOPUSSY is one of the silly, but none-the-less enjoyable BOND films of the 80s, but starting here Roger Moore seems to be getting too old for the role and main-villain Kamal Khan, whos played by Louis Jourdan, is very good, but he really doesnt threaten 007 in the end. Maud Adams as OCTOPUSSY is also good, but I dont know if shes quite a villain or if shes supposed to help BOND, but still this entry is yet still thrilling and although theres not as many action sequences or stunts as usual, it still ranks as a great 007 adventure, just not as good as A VIEW TO A KILL, Roger Moores final BOND film. Sign In 1 out of 1 users found this helpful Double six, fancy that!Posted: 1/15/2003A review of Octopussy by nazdarovya This bond film has a good plot, with general Gogol taking a 'good-guy' stance in this one, opposed to one of his subordinates who wants to prolonge the cold war. Isn't it ironic that in most if not all Bond films, the villains arrogantly describe to 007 in great detail how their master plans will be executed, only to see them foiled at the last minute because of something they said?!!! I still liked this film, one of the more believable, less exaggerated Bond films, in terms of outrageous stunts. The auction, and the 'double six' scenes are very funny to watch, to see 007 and Kamal Khan size each other up. And watch out for the big guy who never speaks, and crushes dice in his hands (never a good thing). Kinda like Jaws or Oddjob. The knivethrowers are peskier than first impressions too.
