Cell phone was off and the only distraction I occured was the people around me snoring... I wish I could have beat them to sleep... My gal pal said it was the best rest she ever experienced me getting... Oh was the movie playing? Not sure fell asleep in the first five min with the rest of the movie goers..Thanks Crew for a cheap sleep over.... It was like putting money in the all star casts' pockets in lieu of being robbed on the street. I didn't think they needed the money but I guess everyone can use some free money for nothing once in awhile.
I thought the plot was trying to be so cool that it succeeded in putting me to sleep 10 minutes into the movie. I would not recommend this movie for anything to anyone including my worst enemy. Boring plot, I guess trying to use all the super star's presence over any plot, action, story line, etc.
What a waste of my money. And what a disappointment in the cast. You'd think they would have more pride in themselves. Was this review helpful? Three things in particular:
1. So many famous actors, but they are so good at what they do, you forget who they really are. At the same time, once in a while the script will include small references to the real world, like in Ocean's 12 where Tess talks to Julia Roberts on the phone. And both Tess and Julia have husbands named Danny! How sweet!
2. The very 60s feel of the film. Everything from the lighting to the design of the hotel to the wooden blinds on the plane windows in the very beginning of the movie. I love when a movie is set in one period but has the essence of another. Ocean's pulls this off very well because they also incorporated very modern technologies without losing the 60s-ness. Kudos on that.
3. I love noticing small things in a movie that producers probably hope viewers will catch, but they don't want to make it too obvious. Ocean's 13 made several references to Frank Sinatra, and as few people may know, he was the original Danny Ocean. This is cool because Ocean's 11 was a movie from, probably uncoincidentally, the 1960s. Very cool. Was this review helpful? Lucky Thirteen - Entertaining! Even though the movie is based on revenge, the revenge is against the bad guys! I told my husband I think this whole Ocean series is successful because it taps into a core need of guys in particular and humanity as a whole...to belong to a group. Unfortunately I found myself completely bored with the entire thing. The story just seemed to drag, not that exciting. I also didn't find myself laughing at all...the humor was too forced and really just not that funny. Very predictable with no real twists or turns. Mildly funny at times, the plot is confusing and disjointed, and the ending is predictable. Sure, the actors look good, but the acting is mediocre at best. I left empty and unfulfilled, wishing I'd saved my money. The various opening scenes bring on confusion, and it never gets much better. No depth. No fireworks. Overall, pretty dull. Save your $$.
