You would have to understand the building of characters to get this film. Sensless killing? Um yeah! The Bardem Character was a socio-psycopath with no redeeming qualities. That's what he was supposed to be. There was plenty of plot. Some of it was hidden and careful attention had to be paid. Some movies require more than one viewing to get the whole thing. I watched Apocolypse Now about 6 times to get all the feeling and sub-plots that existed in it

This movie started off okay first, then lead you on a chase of mind games each was playing each other on keeping and cashing in the drug money. the near ending usually comes to the sheriff and the bad-ass killer coming to a shootout in this kind of movie. but it just ended before they ever got to met. some justice here.

Thank goodness I didn't go to the theater & see this movie. It is the worst movie I have ever seen!!! I will never go see or rent another Coen Brothers movie again. I can't believe that this actually won awards -ugh! Even their new flick that just came out "Burn After Reading" with all those great stars. I'm sure it will be awful and totally idiotic - I won't be wasting my money or time! Good luck to all you Coen Brother's fans....

I bought the dvd and my expectations were very high... But by the time the main character was killed- which was sad, and such an unexpected way to show it. (I Didnt even realize it was him at first.) I just couldnt understand the "holes" in the story. But the movie was still good. So i decided to buy the book!! It was almost exactly the same, some of the dialouge was exactly the same too. Like when the villian was in the shop, flipping the coin. The book has more details of course, and fills in all the holes. I watched the movie after I read the book (which was a small read) --- I really enjoyed it. The ending is basically the same as the book, it is open and of course it leaves you wanting more. It is not a typical american film, since the hero dies mid-film, and def not for everyone. It is reccomended for people who love foreign films.

Poor plot line and script. Glad I didn't pay to see this turkey at the theater. More proof that the critics don't know s**t from Shinola

This was by all means, an excellent movie. You have to be slightly intelligent and pay attention to understand it though. All of these people who don't "get" the ending and giving it 1 star obviously never paid attention in their high-school literature classes. It's not that complicated of a movie, people. If you're too dumb to understand it, don't comment, you'll prove to everyone how slack-jawed you are. Stick to the Jean-Claude Van Dam and Rocky movies. Maybe you should blame yourselves for not finishing college.

How in the world did this win best picture??? I mean the plot was horrible! There was no plot and it made abosultely no sense. The acting was good. I can understand why there were acting nominations for this film but the script was just horrible. I was the worst 2 hours and 2 minutes that I have ever spent and it was a waste of a netflix rental. It was horrendously horrible. I wish I could give this movie negative amount of stars. Yes, it was that bad!!!!

I just rented it and WHAT THE HELL WAS WITH THE ENDING! I've been SCREWED by Hollywood, AGAIN. Good thing I didn't see it at the movies, I'd really be MAD. The story was slow but moving UNTIL THE END. I cannot in my mind figure out what the ending was for, about, meaning, NOTHING. I'm on to you Hollywood, better take notice!!!!

Actually, I would rate this movie a "0" if that would have been an option. My husband and I rented No Country for Old Men and were floored at how horrible it was. It was violence for the sake of violence. Yes, the actors were great, but the story was horrendous. It was slow, violent and left us sorry we spent a dime to rent it. I cannot fathom, outside of the idea that the Coen's and the critics are buddies, how this movie received such high regard. Gone, Baby Gone, was a far superior movie in every aspect...it was the best movie that I've seen in years, while No Country for Old Men was one of the worst.

This movie was absolutely pathetic. Poor acting, poor plot...did one even exist?? the ending was pathetic. I wasted two hours of my life that I'll never get back watching this insanely stupid movie. I don't understand how it won best picture....maybe worst picture, but best?? Come on....

i too was thoroughly enjoying this movie, right up to the scene when our hero speaks to a lady by the pool. i do not consider myself to be the smartest person in the world, but i totallly lost the plot or storyline after this point. mmm... bit of a shame about the ending realy.

This movie had some of my favorite actors which was why I chose to view it. WHAT A BIG WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY! I would not recommend it. Since there was no zero on the rating scale, I rated it at the lowest possible number. A SENSELESS, HARD TO FOLLOW, IMPOSSIBLE TO UNDERSTAND MOVIE. Even the title did not match the movie.

Now this movie started off good through about the first hour or so but it turned itself upside dow and landed in a pile of poo once Brolin's character left Mexico. The acting was good tough.
