The acting, plot, humor, and chemistry just didn't flow well like the first movie. It seemed phony and far-fetched from the beginning. Aztec gold temples buried in the mountatins of South Dakota?? Am i going to name my kids after the movie? NO but shi*. Didn't see it in the theater cause of the critics review! I think the critics only like sundance films that have subtitles!!! This action packed thriller would, and did have a change of events in the blink of an eye. Nickolas Cage played the best part in any movie that he has ever played before. You will be on the edge of your seat the entire time just awaiting for the next turn of events. You'll be surprised at what happens in the end of the movie. It's nothing like you would ever expect,ever!!!

The all star cast had a nice balance and the pace of the story was just right. The movie felt much like the good Indiana Jones films [#s 1&3] with exciting action and smart dialogue. I find it better than the first movie. They go on an even greater treasure hunt, to find the city of gold - Cibola. It all starts with Ben wanting to clear one of his ancestor's name, claims that the guy had to do with Lincoln's assassination. They find lots of clues and it leads them on and on. Lots of suspense, lots of humor, great for anybody, including tweens and up.

No, not in the sense of enjoying Braveheart, The Great Global Warming Swindle, The Pianist or Chocolat, rather, enjoyable in the sense of Serenity or the Bourne trilogy or Da Vinci Code, or maybe just an afternoon at Six Flags: Extremely well-done thrill-ride matinee filmmaking. In other words, great entertainment.
When I heard shortly thereafter that the hard-left critics had panned it violently, my Political Bias detector went off the charts. Sure enough, National Treasure II is unacceptable - to them - because the main character is a hero rather than a depraved anti-hero, and (horror of horrors,) the main character is patriotic. We absolutely cannot have that, can we?
You know, I for one have had it up to my hairy eyebrows with the Hollywood proctological worldview and its endless stream of depravity-studies masquerading as high art. From the box office receipts it would appear others have too.
It ain't Shakespeare, but National Treasure: Book of Secrets is both money and time well spent. Ignore the vestigial commies and enjoy it. Was this review helpful? National Treasure 2 was #1 in the box office for a couple weeks, so it has to be good. A little cheesy, but it's a Disney movie. More action scenes, but some questions are still left unanswered.
