This really is one hell of a movie. The acting is raw and very powerful, and the plot is great to boot. I would definatley recomend this incredibly underrated movie to anybody that likes a good drama.

The cinematography should be commended. The use of split screens showing two events happening simultaneously is a useful tool to get the movie watcher to see it again to catch the other conversations. It is rather predicatable, however, but their is a twist at the end that cannot be ignored--along with the abrupt end of the movie never answering questions about Jason Patric's choice of telling the truth or writing a wrong. The movie is not drawn out, follows a fast pace, wrestles with the "we all have major issues people don't know about" rather well--how the best intentioned and wonderful people can be whirlwinded into a life that is so bleak that one actually contemplates suicide. A step down from Magnolia, but the brilliant acting by Patric and Liotta (who is still fine with the beargut) compensate. I highly recommend a viewing on DVD. However, like Requium for a Dream or the Salton Sea, some might not identify with the personal peril unless their lives have been affected by substance abuse.

One of the best I've seen all year. The acton was great, the acting couldn't be topped. Had some problems with the ending it could have been a little better, but other than that it was very good.

Just as I thought we were witnessing a fresh and gritty drama reminiscent of a Scorcese film, the stereotypical P.C. sellout begins. This one starts off with so much promise only to waste two great acting performances in order not to offend. It was an embarrassment by the time the credits roll. What's so hard to understand is how this could be so good for over an hour. Did the studio force them to change the ending? In any case, wait for another Goodfellas or Soprano's episode or rent Ray Liotta in Something Wild, a far superior movie.

This movie is the best cop/narcotics movie I have ever seen. Ray Liotta and Jason Patric are surefire oscar bait. Joe Carnahan did a wonderful of directing and writting this movie. The opening chase seen was unbeilvable. The Camera movements that they used were so unique. The plot was so greaat. The ending was a huge suprise. This movie is definately on my ten best movies of this year.

Sometimes you would like to see Ray play a good guy once in awhile, but this is one of his best acting jobs he has done . This flick was absolutely gripping. Keeps you in suspense all the way to the end, and looking for more. SEE THIS ONE!

I thought Narc was an excellent movie, and extremely under-rated. Both actors, Jason Patric and Ray Liotta, did an amazing job, really bringing life to their characters. The storyline was outstanding, and it really made me think...what would I do in Henry Oak's position? How would I feel? Plenty of action, great acting, and even a little comedy tossed in at certain places, if you haven't seen Narc already, you should.

I think this movie was good in the sense of the darkness and stress that is shown through the characters. Very good drama, and not your run-of-the-mill crime movie like most of those cop movies are. Good. Good. Good.(I'm doing an article on this movie for my school newspaper!! Woohoo! It's that good!)

Awesome flick. Jason Patric is phenominal as Nick Tellis & Ray Liotta gives a great supporting effort.Very realistic dialogue & violence as I have experienced as a law enforcement officer.I highly reccomend this movie. At times it is brutal, but justifiably so.My only complaint would be that it was not released or advertised enough. If it were I feel it would have been very financially successful. I had to drive about a half hour to find a theater that was showing it & I live close to 4 or 5 theaters.GO SEE THIS MOVIE!!

This movie is excellent! Narc had my undivided attention until the very end. Not only were the writing and directing perfect, but the performance of Narc's two stars is unflinching and unforgiving. Jason Patric (a very underrated actor) stars as a disgraced undercover narcotics officer who is given a chance to redeem himself by investigating another narcotics officer's murder. He teams up with the slain officer's partner (Ray Liotta) to uncover the truth and find the killer. That's the plot. So what is Narc really about? The grey area between good and bad that exists even if no one likes to admit it. It isn't about good/bad cops. Its about going to the edge and hanging on by your fingernails. There are no easy answers in Narc. The plot has you guessing until the end and that's when you come to the full realization and meaning of every action taken in Narc. This is a movie worth seeing. The performances, story, and pure rush of Narc will stay with you long after you have left the theater.

Very powerful film that doesn't hold back anything. It may seem that these cops are good but they aren't bad either they are people and that is what makes this movie interesting. The movie is basically about a cop who by error shots a women who is pregant and ends up losing the baby. He then gets (patricks character) reassigned to investiage a cops murder that has been going nowhere with the dead cops partner (Liotta). There some twists to the plot which keep it interesting and as the movie progresses you learn more about both of them and their background. The movie is not for everyone, its gritty, raw and the ending is surprising and powerful. Its no an action movie but a strong drama in which Patrick and Liotta give career performances which make this movie stand out above most other cop films.

The movie Narc was extremely gritty, and what I would imagine living in those situations would be like. The violence in the movie was not something that I enjoy, though I think for this type of movie entirely appropriate. The plot and story line were excellent, it kept you guessing up to and including the end. This movie left you with questions unanswered, there are so many different ways the story might end. It leaves you wondering what Jason Patric's character will do about his having killed his partner and the delimma of having done the right thing for the wrong reason or was it the right reason ? You have to figure that out for yourself.
