The movie was crap. Yes, it followed the same plot as the book but not really. They tried to portray Jesse as a bad ass but lacked. They changed the sisters name! Really, how hard would it have been to keep the name the same? The end was totally different. Kate and Taylor didn't end up in bed! Julia was not even mentioned. The judge was a man in the book. There were just so many things wrong! I guess I should have known better, the book is always much much better. Book 10 Movie 1

This movie was good but sad and i mean crying on your sleeve , sniveling , waiting for everyone to leave the theater so you can blow your nose good crying . It did not help that I lost a sister to cancer complications and it was over 23 years ago but the story was so awesome of the love this family had . go but do not take a date .

Just went and saw My Sisters Keeper - The book is the best - If you read the book you hated the mom in the book, in the movie, well, you might see her side and not hate her, and the ending was what you would expect from Hollywood - the book's ending was what made the book, it was the entire point of the story. The ending at least should have stuck more to the book, and as someone else brought out, the movie sugarcoated the especially the mom.

For all of you who think Jodi Picoult is an astounding author, seriously, shut up. She really isn't. The plot lines of all of her books are amazing, but she ruins the ending every time. The ending of the book My Sister's Keeper was absolutely dreadful, you could tell that she was trying to end it as soon as possible. I felt that Anna simply didn't deserve to die after all she'd done to help her sister in the book. I'm happy they changed the ending in the move, it makes more sense, it's more realistic, and it wasn't as rushed as it was in the book. I loved the movie however. I found myself sobbing throughout the whole thing it was so sad, and I felt for the characters. I definitely recommend the movie, everyone should see it.

Before seeing this film I had no interest in the story of "My Sister's Keeper" however after the first 20minutes all of that changed. With the occurance of cancer on the rise this film can easily reach out and touch everyone who watches... You will be sure to cry, smile, think back upon memories of your own family and call someone who loves you as only an angel can as soon as you leave. This movie allows you to see just how much someone can love....and that someone can be only a call away or sitting next to you. A must see for everyone!

If I were just a movie-goer, and not a book-reader, I would be satisfied with the movie. Had I only seen the movie, and not read the book, I would've felt cheated had it ended the way the book did. But, because I read more than I watch movies, I wouldn't have liked the book had it been written the way the screenplay was. Does that make sense? The movie itself was okay. I think they did a great job portraying what a family with this sort of trauma in their lives really go through, but, as others have said, the theme strayed far away from the theme of the book. Your best bet is to read the book, watch the movie, and accept they aren't supposed to be the same. The movie has it's good points, (it did make me cry which is hard to do), and the book has it's good points, the ending being the best. I've read all of Jodi's books and loved most of them. The best ones, IMO, are Nineteen Minutes and Second Glance. I'd love to see Nineteen Minutes as a movie, as long as it stayed true to the book.

As a mother of a leukemia survivor, I'm always a bit cautious about all of the movies that throw in the "kid with leukemia". Until now, I've never seen a movie that captures the gut-wrenching truth of cancer and how it affects the entire family. But beyond that (and more importantly), this movie captures the love of a family, their hope, their strength, their courage and I loved it! The actors were brilliant!

I liked the acting in the movie BUT the way it was put together was boring!!!! I was expecting the story to be about how a young girl wants to have a choice medically, not to go off on different tangets... Out of 5 stars I might give it a 2 !!!

The movie as a whole was well done. However, the ending ruined the most crucial point of the story. Now I'm sorry I went to see it.

I just saw the movie, and thought it was terrific! Obviously, you cannot put everything in the book into a movie, but I think they did a great job, and I actually liked the ending of the movie better than the book.

I was such a huge fan of the book and the book was made in the last 15 pages or so. The movie is exactly what you would expect to happen, but the book takes you on a roller coaster ride. I can't believe Jodi let them RUIN her book in this way. If you read the book and loved it, you will hate the movie.

I thought the acting was great, the story line was amazing, the whole thing was good. But the problem was if you have read the book you're gonna be more or less dissapointed. it was so far from giving justice to the amazing author of the story, Jodi Picoult. it was a whole different story, didnt highlight the same points, the ending was toally changed, and the characters personalities were alltered. I was overall dissapointed with the changes, but give the movie a thumbs up anyway

AGAIN, why the change of the ending? If you have read the book and loved it like I did don't waist your time or money. Just go rent "Steel Magnolias" or "Beaches". The whole reason I loved the book, and was hoping to love the movie, was because the story was different, shocking, took a turn that made you question all things. What a shame, why would they do this? Sorry, I will forever be disappointed.

I can see why people who saw the movie rated it 4 stars but I would give it a 3 at best. It did not stay TRUE to the book. If it had you would have left the movie with I wonder what happened. When I heard the movie was coming out I prayed it would stay true to the book. When you read the book and it ended you thought WAIT there has to be more pages.. I won't tell you the ending in the book but if you haven't read it READ IT it was great! This author handles many ethical issues and this was just one I am on her 3rd book.
