This movie was very cute. Honestly, I think that you need to have experienced some of the situations in order for it to really hit home, though. For example, I am sure that getting divorced and trying to get back into the dating world is a really tough thing. This movie goes over the top with some of the bad dates, but I am sure it happens. So, I would give this movie high marks only if you are in your 40s to 50s, are divorced, and are trying to get into the dating world, otherwise this might not be the best movie for you to see. Also, I think that this movie is really optimistic about online dating, which is good. I think that people should give it a try because finding love really can make your life a whole lot more fulfilling.

Overall it was a pretty enjoyable movie....nothing deep or realistic here, but then romantic comedies are usually neither of these, anyway. I really enjoy John Cusack in all of his movies, and Diane Lane is fairly enjoyable, too. Elizabeth Perkins also does a nice job. The concept of the movie is quite timely right now and the movie has some pretty funny parts although the very end of the movie is pretty predictable and hokey but still, ya gotta have a happy, feel-good ending in this kind of movie! Thats what it is all about!!! Anyway, definitely a good chick-flick and worthy of watching, if not Academy-award worthy. Hope they keep making this genre of movie....its nice escapism without tons of thinking involved and you always leave the theater feeling good.

I love John Cusack, but this movie is such a piece of crap. I had no sympathy for ANY of the characters. Shallow story with decent acting. A total bore. I kept waiting to feel something, ANYTHING for their situations but it never happened. I gave it 1 star because there is no half star option.

I loved this movie!! Most romantic comedies are not very original, but I thought this one was. The story is a little cliche, but the characters are all very real and very original! One of the best things about this movie was the family, I liked how her brothers, sisters, and various members of the extended family were all trying to help her. I think the funniest parts of this movie were with the guy at the meat counter...priceless!! All the actors in it did a really good job making the story a whole lot more believable than it would have otherwise been. Overall, this was a great movie that I would definately reccomend.

The story line was ordinary but the cast tied it up in a fun package. Very enjoyable. Loved the cast. So professional and anything but ordinary. See it and let it warm your heart.

I received this movie as a gift, and didnt expect much from it. I cant believe how easily I forget how much I enjoy John Cusack. If women truly have trouble understanding men, watch this movie and High Fidelity. It is uncanny how I relate to the roles he plays in these two movies. He is truly one of the most underrated actors of this generation.

This was a very enjoyable, lighthearted movie. I thought it was fun and had some heartwarming moments. However, am I truly missing something or is 30 percent of our population homosexual?? I don't understand why we have to have the token gay couple in every show we see now. The movie would not have lost a thing without the gay couple, so why does Hollywood feel compelled to slant reality? Or AM I MISSING SOMETHING?? Is 1 out of 3 couples homosexual now? (Or, will that be the percentage after Hollywood has made it completely acceptable and common?) I don't get it........ Too bad it didn't fit into an otherwise enjoyable movie.

My husband I went to see this miovie on a rainy dreary afternoon .We loved it! It was funny and refreshing. It feels good to laugh in a movie and there was plenty to laugh about. It is so great to see a movie that is not loaded with violence---have already recommended it to many friends!

I was quite happy I went to see this movie (with my boyfriend who also really enjoyed it). The dialog is clever, the actors are sharp and convincing. And the gay couple is of course portrayed as intelligent and compassionate. Despite some canned aspects, this is a good film. It brings out the absudity of online personal ads, the complexity of relationships, the beauty of large families, and especially-- the tremendous akwardness of meeting a new date. The dogs featured are adorable and add to the film's overall feel-good energy. Dianne Lane is vulnerable and believable in this film about getting back on your feet after a failed marriage. She's also in absolutely fantastic shape. And John Cusack is quirky, sensitive, funny and bitter in his roll. He's perfect! Go see this film when you just need to feel good about life for a little while and get your mind off of everything.

I haven't been to the movies since last Christmas. This movie sounded like the kind I'd make the trek to the mall in order to see. I wasn't disappointed. As someone said earlier in their review, don't expect Oscar material, but it was a FUN movie! I enjoyed it very much and judging by the laughter in our theater, my fellow movie-goers agreed. I think it was worth my money to see it. One question: Who played the "easy" young woman who ended up hooking up with Diane Lane's 'first cousin who was adopted'? I think her character's name was Sherry.

For anyone who has been divorced and found themselves back on the dating scene, this movie rang sooooooo true! I'm married now, and my husband and I both were internet daters and we met on the internet after both losing in love. It's a great date movie. I loved Cusack and Lane. We both enjoyed it very much, and I can't wait for it to come to DVD to add to my collection!

Must Love Dogs is THE best movie I have seen in a theater in the past year. It was so cute, but it was also memorable. I love John Cusack and Diane Lane together and the cast was great. I would see this movie 10 more times. SO GREAT. MUST SEE!!! Anna

I am a huge fan of both Jon Cusack and Diane Lane so when I first heard about this film I was relatively excited. However, when my friend Alison and I actually went to see it (in an empty theater mind you... maybe that was saying something) we left in the first 10 minutes because the script, the cheesy predictable tripe and the shockingly bad acting (escpecially on Lane's part) became overwhelming. My friend faked having an asthma attack to get us out with a 100% refund. It was THAT bad! i have never walked out on a movie in my life... not until now.

I'm surprised at all the negativity! I loved this movie, however, I really didn't think it was a comedy. There were funny parts in it, though. This movie was suspiciously real to life! I thought that's what movies aimed for! This one poked fun at internet dating, at family involvement in dating, at the pain of datiing. I love Diane Lane. Her performance made me believe that her character was real. Most of the movie was unpredictable. I loved the relationship she formed with Stockard Channing's character. The only thing I didn't like, was the ending. They could have ended it better. It seemed a little contrived and the ending was too predictable. The rest was wonderful. Watching it was like having a heart to heart talk with your best girlfriend. (Men could learn a lot from this one!) Go see it. Its worth the trip.
