It tells the story how it should be told, without any hollywood polish or re-write. see it. youll be happy you did. Its also pretty damn funny. Was this review helpful? Remember what he was trying to do at the time? Thats right, he had created a blind football league. That was roughly five minutes of the funniest television ever! Unfortunately, this is not a comedy! They are serious! No kidding, a movie about wheelchair rugby. Wheelchair rugby! Next therell be a movie about eating McDonalds to find out if it makes you fat! I know this came out when the NHL was out in a lockout, but this is real desperation in the jonsing for a sports fix department. Luckily, I only sat through about 15 minutes before walking out to find better things to do (I walked in knowing nothing about the movie). Was this review helpful? They compete hard, they train hard, they enjoy playing for the love of it.
They dont give you a rosy feel good movie about sports, they dont give you the afternoon specail about how all people are the same even with disabilities.
There is no pity or apologies or anything close to it
What you get is a raw film, full of I can do this because I want to and I dont care Was this review helpful? This is for real. These guys are athletes who work harder than any multi-million dollar professional cry-baby. They play meaner and they leave everything on the court for nothing but self-respect and competitive drive. Each of them blasts through barriers that would leave you and me sniveling on the sidelines. Bravo to everyone associated with this fine documentary! Was this review helpful? It was really nice to see people doing what makes them happy. Not to mention i think that Mark, Andy and Scott are hotties. I recommend this movie to all. It relayed a positive message without being "oh feel sorry for us" type.
By the way the players are quad's not para, all 4 limbs are affected in some way. the guys talked about it on Larry King live Thursday night
movie was great go see it. Was this review helpful? Sign In 1 out of 4 users found this helpful Posted: 7/9/2005A review of Murderball by Vasuman-αλλά-Sulalit The players are quadriplegics, they have limited fucntion of their arms and legs. If the players were not quads then they would have said so. Was this review helpful? THey have the use of their arms, just not their legs. Was this review helpful?
