The premise was good and there were a few good scenes but for the most part the movie seemed like it was going nowhere. I was waiting for a big climatic moment to make the 2 hours and 45 minutes I donated to this movie worth it. I think thismovie had enourmous potential but instead of a great movie spielberg made an okay movie Was this review helpful? Sign In 3 out of 3 users found this helpful Munich is such a great film. Spielberg put a lot of research and time into this movie as to not offend anyone. But Im not here to talk about whether it offends or not. Im just going to say that I think this is a great film. The camerawork, editing, directing, acting, and everything else is just perfect. Its a little long, but its not an action movie, and if youre into the human drama then this is a great film to watch. It is extremely entertaining and the executions are quite exciting and intense to watch. I especially loved how the World Trade Center was visible in the background of the closing scene, reminding us of the terrorism that we face today. Munich is a truly powerful film that shows us how terrorism will always be there and how were always going to have to face it. Munich tells the story of how honorable men must take a vow to kill in revenge, but soon begin to question themselves and their moral value. Was this review helpful? Sign In 0 out of 2 users found this helpful The events surrounding the 1972 attack on the Israeli athletes in Munich should have been the subject of a film a long time ago. Sadly, this film is so unbelievable and pathetically sentimental that it is a waste of time for anyone interested in anything other than a paperback novel script. Toward the end of this bloody movie I was hoping that the whole cast would die so that I could get out of the theater and live. Was this review helpful? Sign In 0 out of 2 users found this helpful It shocked me how Spielberg turns more than 8 different cities in europe and the middle east into the early 70s ! the hairdressers ,the costume designers did a great job..im not sure if its historically sound...but i agree that the land conflict in the middle east is endless. Was this review helpful? Sign In 1 out of 8 users found this helpful A moing film about heavy subject matter Very engrossing. Not sure if all the histiory was accurate, would have to read up on it all. But Eric and Daniel Craig are hot. Eric is superb in this role carrying most every scene in the movie. Great film-making but not for the squemish. Was this review helpful? I prefer reading books before watching its stories unfold on the big screen through the eyes of another. Although, Spielberg is a very talented director, I prefer visualizing a story like this especially one that is true, on my own. The book is also definitely worth reading because it reads just like a novel. Whats with all the credit to Spielberg though? Kudos to George Jonas and Avnver as well. Was this review helpful? Sign In 7 out of 15 users found this helpful In my opinion this movie is really interesting but I personally would add a couple of more actions scenes. But maybe the director was trying to not fall into the stereotypical movie because for me and my boyfriend it definitely wasnt and that made it good. I would recommend it but the fact that it is very long is something you should think about also Was this review helpful? Though this movie is very violent and grusome at times it proves its points well, and focuses not only on the munich events but the war on terrorism today. Was this review helpful? Sign In 11 out of 13 users found this helpful This movie was an amazingly even-handed presentation of this story. It brought the horrors of this conflict to life. However, it was very long. This movie is not for the squemish, and not by any means for children or even young teenagers. I would definately recomend reading a few articles about the munich olympics, after you see the movie. I am glad I walked out before the last bit. I heard about it later. Sounds like those kids had fun on screen to all of your horror.
Dont waste your dough, yall. If you want to see naked people getting shot, well, go play naked paint ball. At least youll have more fun, there is no sex involved (cause you wont be able to move from the welts) and you can all laugh at how funny YOU look in the buff.
Ok, Ive gone over the line. Seriously. Stevie, ole pal...you really bit it hard with this one. Bring on Jurassic Park 9! I think theres gonna be radioactive fossils of something. Its supposed to be wild. Was this review helpful? Sign In 6 out of 11 users found this helpful For whatever reasons we take 3 hours of our life to give attention to a filmmaker, Steven Spielberg again delivers. Theis is a very even handed treatment of the Isreali-Palistinian conflict that does not gloss over the fact that German atrocity against the Jews prompted the penance of losing their land on the Palistinians. This is brought home by the Palistinian who states, My grandfather did not gas the Jews. The Palistinians brutality met by death squads is seen for what it is an endless circle of violence that changes normally pious and peaceful Jews and Muslims into savages and both sides are egged on by the information vendors whose only political stance is the next paycheck.
The film is compelling, and shows the humanity of both sides of this no-win situation. If only the Jewish Homeland was Bravaria! Was this review helpful? Leave your philosophy on the human mind and our animal instincts at home. Was this review helpful? Sign In 0 out of 0 users found this helpful It was a good movie. I wont give it away but if you like hit man movies (The Professional, Godfathers, ect.) youll like this move, although its not a mafia movie. If youre Jewish and you like hit man movies you cant go wrong. Theres lots of violence and drama. Was this review helpful? Sign In | ||
