That's a good sign! But, I found the overall story, and especially the ending with Mr. Woodcock on a stretcher...in a parade no less...a bit trite in a very let's-not-be-trite kind of way. It's as if they started with the image of an older woman in a pepto-bismol prom dress and a young hot guy in wresting gear, sat them in a hospital waiting room, and then built a script around it. However, great cast! How in the world did they get the great, luminous Susan Sarandon to do this film? A perfectly pleasant, innocuous 90 minutes. I paid $1.00 to see this movie, and used change in my glove compartment. At a penny a minute, definitely a good return on my investment dollar. Was this review helpful? Mr. Woodcock had no personality it felt as if you couldn't get a grip on who he is the actors seemed bored or just bad during the movie and there were no events to support the plot. The comedy lines seemed somewhat forceful like they had to be funny and you had to laugh. This movie isn't all bad though there are some funny characters and scenes. But it just didn't really leave an impression on me, by the end of the movie I was feeling quite dissappointed maybe because of all the hype and I just didn't get what I was looking for, but hey enough with my review go out and see the movie for yourself so you can decide whether I was completely right or just an ass. I literally LOVED this movie especially because I know what it feels like to get pushed around by a teacher that I have hated for so long. This movie completely defined my life in high school, and how much I hated that one teacher. Thankfully this teacher would never date my mom. I just thought the premise of Shawnn William Scott and Billy Bob Thornton trying to like each other was the best part of the entire movie, even though that was the entire movie, it is still the funniest movie I have seen in a while. And so, I'm going to sleep now. Peace easy, America!!! Was this review helpful? If you submit feedback on this review in the future, we will overwrite your previous feedback. I was hoping it to be a funny movie, but all the funny parts were played in the trailers, which got old after the 3rd time you've seen them. Was this review helpful? Sign in 0 out of 0 users found this helpful Posted: 9/15/2007A review of Mr. Woodcock by HF Nut Went to see this last night because our local reviewer gave it 4 stars. He said the acting was what saved the movie. I say the acting almost saved the movie. The plot had bad holes in it that made no sense if you thought about it. The resolution of whether Mr. Woodcock was a good guy or a bad guy hinged on a scene that left us certain that he was a bad guy and he would get his comeuppance. Because the writer failed to resolve this problem we were disappointed with the movie. Note however that the reviewer was right about the acting. All concerned did a good enough job that we left satisfied until we thought about it. Was this review helpful?
