Date  Helpful Rating 0 out of 0 users found this helpful  MOONRAKER (1979)Posted: 6/20/2006A review of Moonraker by Rockdude_91 Finally and thank God this is the only WORST film of the JAMES BOND franchise, but MOONRAKER has its good, if not maybe a little better, moments and then theres Roger Moores tongue-in-cheek, witty and not-to-serious performance. I dont really hate this film and I think its still a little enjoyable, but why launch 007 into Space and why in Earth do we have to see the weird or just idiotic moments in this film? Hugo Drax, played by Michael Lonsdale, seems a bit too underachieving and sophisticated to even manage to threaten BOND, but there is Richard Kiel reprising his role as Jaws as a saving grace and thats it. MOONRAKER is a fairly good entry with many flaws and material that needed to be amped-up or left out, and as far as the film goes, its just a JAMES BOND MEETS STAR WARS type of adventure that doesnt even hit the bullseye! Roger Moore as the 007 Agent has played this role in a splendid manner. His acting, especially the dialogues were very much full of humor. The screenplay and the special effects were very well planned and the soundtrack on the other hand, is the best one. Other than Mr.Bond himself, Dr. Hlly Goodhead, the bond girl, had a good role and did it in her own charming style. The villains i must say are also the best ones i've seen yet. this movie undoubtedly is the best one till now. Was this review helpful? Sign In 5 out of 7 users found this helpful Moonraker: one of the better Bond moviesPosted: 11/20/2002A review of Moonraker by Matthew_73 Moonraker is considered by many to be one of the weaker entries in the entire 007 series, but I disagree. While the space idea is not realistic, it plays with one's imagination and was a perfect fit for the time period when it was released. In addition, Lois Chiles' Dr. Holly Goodhead is in my opinion the best Bond girl in the entire series and the fight scenes are top notch.
