I thought the movie was funny! My 3 yr. old child loved it also. He laughed at the monsters and watched the movie without running around. It had his undivided attention through the whole movie. It was the first time I had ever took him to the movies and I am glad that I did. He loved it as much as I did. We want to know when it is going to come out on DVD!!!!!???????

One star?! Really? What movie was this critic watching? I'm not a Seth Rogen fan per se, but he was absolutely hysterical as the voice of B.O.B. I could not stop laughing. I don't care what big name is behind an animated movie (Reese Witherspoon, I'm talking to you, sweetie), as long as it can make me laugh, I'm all in. A good example is Rhino the hamster from Bolt. Not voiced by a huge name guy, but he steals every scene with that voice. Overall, this is a decent movie. I don't know what's wrong with people who have to look for things to complain about.

What a delight after the horiffic experience of Coraline. Just appropriate for kids and the adults accompanying them. Not a single dull or inappropriate moment. I give it full thumbs up.

The movie was great but it had a couple of ridiculous moments. Also there were some adult jokes. It was a little shocking but all around it was a good movie.

This was a quality movie that kids will enjoy. I didn't see it in 3-D, but enjoyed it just the same. Worth the money.

The animation was great. 3-D and the jokes weren't over the heads of the kids. I took my girls to see it, and they loved it.

Without a doubt one of the worst movies ever made for the money spent. The only imagination was to play off on other movies, which the kids would not understand. A girl on her wedding day takes a direct hit from a asteroid and develops superhuman strength. She is captured immediately by the U.S. Army and kept prisoner with other monsters. An alien wants her powers and lands on Earth. We have a fight and the monsters win. That is all folks. If you want to rent a monster movie which is funny and original, rent Monsters, Inc.

Mary P. from Bay Area should stick to movies that make people fall asleep within first 10 minutes of the show. What makes those "critics" opinions so special? If she cosnidered Kung Fu Panda tidious she doesn't know first thing about movie, or maybe she just don't know a well made movie when she sees one. My 4-year-old son enjoyed Monsters vs Aliens immensely; my 7-year-old daughter laughed out loud all the way. Most kids in the theater were laughing all the time. A 5-year-old boy covered his face during this movie the entire time? Man! This boy's got issues! This is why I consider "movie critics" the most useless profession in the world, I mean, if you could even call that a profession! Any person with average intelligence can voice his/her opinion about a movie. Tell me again, what makes those "critics" opinions so special? MSN should stop wasting money hiring "critics". They should just let "average" users rate the movie. Get rid of those useless critics like Mary P. If I see her BS on MSN movie review again, I am boycutting MSN and sticking to Yahoo in the future.

When my husband told me that he had checked the review (by Mary Pols) and thought it might be a waste of money, I was upset. I had just taken our 4 year old daughter and we thouroughly enjoyed ourselves!!! I was shocked to hear that someone had written so many bad things about this movie, so I just had to check for myself. I admit that I have to wonder if we watched the same movie?!! My 4 YEAR OLD daughter didn't jump or hide (Hey Mary, you may want to toughen that 5 yr old son up a bit!). The even younger boy sitting next to us didn't flinch, either.... The theater was full of kids that were chearing on the monsters and squealing with delight at their success! I didn't have a problem with Susan proportions, she looked athletic. And there wasn't anything wrong with her wedding dress ripping to show her thighs- (Hello, people!!! She's the female version of HULK!) It was in NO WAY inappropriate. (However if you're looking for inappropriate go see Coraline!) Anyways... I was thrilled when I read the bellow review! I thought it was on point and informative. Maybe "just watch the movie" should be paid to give movie reviews so that Miss Mary Pols can retire!

Although I will be the first to admit that Monsters vs. Aliens is probably no Oscar winner, I simply could not let the words of Mary Pols, "Special to MSN Movies" (on the critics review page) rest as the primary MSN critic review of this delightful little movie. And, yes, while the story does pale in comparison to Finding Nemo, Cars, or The Incredibles (all Pixar flicks - see some of us "average moviegoers" really do know the difference), it was filled with a tale of friendship, tolerance, self worth, heroism, and selflessness -- principles our youth of today would do well to learn. Scenes where Susan (Gigantica) - in mortal peril, fighting a robot three times her size - pauses to save innocent by-standers, or where, powerless and separated from her new found friends, she risks her life to save them as they did for her depict the selfless humanity we all should have within us. In the end, the acceptance of these "Monsters" shows us that tolerance can set us all free. Mary's claims of gratituous violence, noise, destruction are blown farther out of proportion than Gigantica's legs, which, by the way are the only truly distracting "nipped and tucked" part of her character. I did wonder why the animators decided to make her legs so disproportinate, and then I realized -- SHE'S A CARTOON MONSTER for heaven's sake! Anyone who seriously believes that Susan was supposed to represent some sort of "Ultimate" woman needs a bit of meteor juice themselves. I so tire of movie critics, such as Mary, who cannot see beyond the mediocre to embrace the good that lies in stories like these (don't you dare dis on the "Kung Fu Panda"). Mary seems to have felt the need to write about some self-perceived evil in this movie that is more a figment of her imagination than reality. This is a fun, delightlful little move that will most surely please its target demographic. It contains loads of laughs, fun tributes galore to sci-fi legends, and lessons to learn for us all.
