Smith's overacting detracts from Jones' point blank, very believable character study. Smith needs to find his niche. Perhaps he should stick to kiddie rap. If it wre not for his charming looks and exhuberant smile, Smith would be just another man in black. Was this review helpful? Yes, it isn't quite like the first one. It's not meant to be. This is like a comic book come to life. There are so many humorous quips you almost have to watch the movie again just to catch them all. Will Smith has definitely come into his own with this character. He plays it with ease. Tommy Lee Jones has that dead pan humor that is very engaging. Together they have a chemistry worth watching. Thumbs up for the special effects. A bit part of Michael Jackson trying to persuade them to let him be Agent M - oh, too much!! Was this review helpful? But it's sequal fails miserably. The jokes are bad and this storyline is almost as bad as that of 'Freddy got fingered'. Although it did have some pretty good special effects. That's pretty much what this movie was, a recycling of the plot from the first one. It might have been better if it went along the lines of, ";Zed becomes infected with alien virus and Jay must find cure via galactic travel whilst encountering many perils along the way."; I'll say this much: I was glad I saw it at a friend's house and didn't have to pay a cent to watch it. It was the best Men in Black 2 movie I have ever seen. Men in Black 2 had little swearing for a PG13 movie.Men in Black 2 is my most favourite movie i have ever seen. We learn more about Frank the Pug Dog and the Worms. The Worms are on probation for stealing but the say that they were framed. Frank becomes Agent Jay's new partner(in the first Men in Black Agent Kay got neuralzed. Which means that your memory is erased.)beacuse Jay's partner Agent Tee was crying in the diner so Jay neuralzed Tee, than Jay went back to Headquarters and went to Agent Zed. Jay was talking to Zed when Frank came in Zed's office with the mail and that is how Frank became Jay's partner. The acting is great, but I thought there was something missing...a funnier script, maybe. Will Smith is wonderful, as always, but I thought Tommy Lee Jones played the postal worker better than Men in Black agent K. Lara Flynn Boyle is okay as the baddie, and Rosario Dawson is excellent.
