The first time I saw this movie, I didnt get it right away , thats why I wanted to see it again, but as I kept on watching it, I realize that the director didnt want the audience to know who the killer really was, but now that ive seen it a few times more... i think that teddy was playing with leonard, and using him to cover his rotten cop moves, so its a fair deal he got killed, he became Leonards Jonh G, and so what if he helped him or not, maybe he was liyng about that too.
A great none typical movie Was this review helpful? Sign In 0 out of 2 users found this helpful Posted: 2/6/2004A review of Memento by Coffeenut1975 I found this whole movie to be tedious, confusing and annoying. I had a very difficult time keeping up with everything, especially with flashback after flashback. I wasn't the least bit entertained by it, and actually found myself regretting having spent the money to rent it. While I agree it was an interesting and unique idea, it was poorly laid out, poorly planned out and poorly acted. Was this review helpful? Sign In 0 out of 0 users found this helpful I'm giving this one 4 stars because of the fine acting, screenplay and editing. However, I'm withholding that last star because I'm not convinced that the story could not have been told more effectively in normal chronology. Also, the conclusion was not entirely satisfying for me. Are we supposed to know who the killer was? My take was that Teddy WAS the killer, and Leonard, operating on instinct, drew the right conclusion. I would appreciate feedback on this point. Was this review helpful? I've seen this movie about 13 times and after the 7th time I stopped picking up things I missed from the past 6 times. The acting by Guy Pearce,Joe Pantoliano, and Carrie-Anne Moss is some of the best I've seen.Guy Pearce should have at least gotten an Oscar nod for his work in this piece of Art. The way the story is told is very unusual. The colored scenes move backward, while the black and white scenes movie forward. This movie confused me the first time. After a few sittings, I understood it more. Yeah, I don't wanna five anything away, so... watch it for yourself. There is nothing else like it. This is definately one of the best movies ever made. Very original (sorta), and it keeps you at the edge of your seat. You just wonder how this short-term memory person is gonna find out who killed his wife. It's just one twist after another. Guy Pearce shoulda gotten at least an Oscar(TM) nod. Overall, fantastic movie. But answer me this question: This man has short-term memory, anything he's done, is all forgotten... so how does he know that he has short-term memory? Someone may have beaten me to that question, but oh well. Was this review helpful? Their were only a couple of problems i had with this film. First of all the whole Oracle story line was a waste of time where she explain what she went through when she helped Neo out. They should of just played it out like if she were the original Oracle. With those few minutes they could of showed the deeper ends of Zion or even even more of the Machine City. The ending wasn't so bad. The little girl sure did get on my nerves though. well out of *****(5) I give it *** Was this review helpful? That's the case for Memento. Guy Pearce is a great lead. Joe Pantiliano gives a killer perfromance, and Carrie-Anne Moss's work is the best I have ever seen. A must-see thriller! Was this review helpful? Sign In 0 out of 0 users found this helpful I absolutely loved this movie. It's not for everyone some people cant keep up, thats their sad loss..I am sorry for them. Unfortuately, as it was a low-budget, independant movie many felt it didn't receive the credit it deserved.

Christopher Nolan's effective screenplay and a strong cast meant that Memento didn't disappoint in other aspects. Guy Pearce was a strong lead, and Joe Pantoliano and Carrie-Anne Moss' performances were also strong.

The use of flashbacks and scenes in black and white were extremely effective and added to the sharpness of the movie. I would recommend more then one viewing as it is difficult to take in everything-the subtle hints and details- at once.

Watching Memento again allowed me appreciate to the originality and screenplay. I would recommend Memento to anyone who is looking for something a little different, and for peole who enjoy a challenging storyline.
Was this review helpful? Sign In 0 out of 0 users found this helpful I agree, there is a great deal of originalty in Memento. The story is presented backwards; Guy pearce excels.

Leonard has no new memories, he relies on photos and notes; he forgets everything in minutes. Based on facts and figures he discovers - and kill - the guy who raped and murdered his wife. Leonard is a criminal too, keep it in mind when watching the film, do not symphatize with criminals.

Does he forget everything? No really. He knows how his car looks like -he took a picture-, but he never forgets where the car is parked. I wish this directing pitfall didn´t exist. Was this review helpful? Sign In 0 out of 0 users found this helpful "Memento" is such an original film with a great story. It's confusing at first, but you'll get really interested after a few minutes. You'll never guess the clever ending. It really puts you deep into thought. The acting is marvelous. I especially enjoyed the performance of Carrie-Anne Moss. The bottom line is that it's a great movie. I highly recommend it. Was this review helpful? Sign In 0 out of 0 users found this helpful Memento was sadly under marketed. It could have done better with more screens and more marketing as it has mass appeal. The film is set up in such a way that you are the protagonist suffering from not remembering what happened last. The sequences are brilliant. I was very sad when Chris Nolan didn't win for Best Original Screenplay for the Academy Awards. The story is original, engaging and thought provoking.
