My husband and I finally decided to watch the movie because we taped it while it was showing on a FREE weekend of HBO. Wow...was I surprised to just absolutely love this move.... actually, it may be one of my all time favorites. It's funny, sad, heart warming and just makes you want to go out and adopt. I highly recommend it...after we watched it we deleted it by mistake.... My Bad !!! Was this review helpful? As it turns out, we found this to be one of the best movies we've seen in quite a while. It was deeply moving, profound and very uplifting. Mr. Cusack's acting was superb, but script was bland, and the kid was creepy. Not in a cute way either. I fell asleep during it and didn't even miss a beat. My husband liked it more than me, but he is an old softie, and I'm the grouch. Don't waste your money. I told my husband on the way out of the theater, that this movie wouldn't be in the theaters for very long. Quick death, I predict. As soon as the few thousand people that saw it last weekend spread the word - no one will go see it. Was this review helpful? The child was pretty close to the picture I had in my head... John and Joan Cusack interact well together, as usual... I thought the love interest scenes were a bit awkward and not well acted... He talks like a girl, is pale like a ghost and has nothing special about him. The ending is so predictable and tries to build emotion, but fails horribly, go see Bella instead, more original...
