HOTCHKISSS DANCING AND CHARM SCHOOL. THIS SIMPLE STORY IS TOLD IN SUCH A COMPELLING WAY THAT IT WOULD BE ENJOYED BY A VERY WIDE AUDIENCE, UNFORTUNATELY MOST PEOPLE WILL LOOK AT THE TITLE OF THIS FILM AND DECIDE THAT THE SUBJECT MATTER IS NOT FOR THEM. THIS IS A SHAME BECAUSE THIS WONDERFUL MOVIE DESERVES TO BE SEEN. SELDOM DO YOU FIND SUCH A TALENTED CAST IN A SMALL INDEPENDENT FILM LIKE THIS. ITS NICE TO KNOW THERE ARE STILL ACTORS WILLING TO WORK FOR THE QUALITY OF THE FINISHED PRODUCT NOT JUST THE AMOUNT OF THE PAYCHECK.

Can you think of films that did and tanked? Dozens, right? This film is in the sleeper category. The kind of film that reminds us once again that the director is interested in bringing THEATRE and ART to the big screen. John Goodman is my all time favorite. He, in my opinion, is a freewheeling, independent thinking mans man who is not afraid to stand in the shoes of the character and fill them admirably. What a cast this movie has and the premise is moving and poignant and precious. My hat is off to the people who had the courage to bring love and life to film. Was this review helpful? Although thats not exactly what happens, the film is an elegiac journey to a sweeter, more civilized place in the heart.
