He's one of those actors that we can all relate to - especially in this role, and the underpaid, and uunderappreciated man, who has been defeated by circumstance. In that climatic scene, the whole movie hinges on, and is pulled together by the force of Jimmy Stewart's acting ability. He sets the whole conclusion into motion.<br>Carole Lombard aquits herself well, and the actress that plays the mother-in-law is convincing and believable in her stereotyped, back-biting, self-pitying role (or is it just that I've known a few people who lived in this role? ha ha. 3.5 stars.. Even though it had a few slow parts, it turned out so well. At the end, when the baby was dying of pneumonia, it's inspiring to see how others tried so hard to help, how everything turned out okay, although things were looking very bad. It's a good movie.
