He epitomizes James Bond and everything he stands for. His gentlemen suave (opposed to the rough, female face slapping Sean Connery),his mild manner,and his good looks (he looks great in a suit) makes him the best Bond. This movie is outstanding. It has a great plot, a great villian (played by Yaphet Kotto), a beautiful women Solitaire (played by the talented Jane Seymour). I went to see this movie in the theater back in 1973 when it was originally released. I enjoyed it so much and I still enjoy it to this day. This is one Bond flick you want in your collection. The Boat chase was outstanding. I heard a few years ago that the stunt where Bond jumps over the bridge with a speed boat, was a world's record for the longest boat jump. However, I am not sure if that record still stands. To make a few corrections on the movie information page in regards to this film, as far as I know, Sheriff Pepper (played by Clifton James?) does not make several more Bond appearences. He played in this film and the next Bond film - The man with the golden gun. Those are the only films I have seen the Sheriff. Also, the theme song to this movie was written by Paul and LINDA McCartney not Lisa. This is one of the best Bond flicks and I highly recommend seeing. Was this review helpful?
