Seymour Krelborn, a struggling floral assistant at Mushnick's on skid row; stumbles on a fascinating little bulb at a nearby Chinese Greenery, and decides to put his off-hours into serious cultivation. But Gravis Mushnick is in thedeepest pit of the row and ultimately opts to fold his tent and steal away until beautiful assistant Audrey prompts Seymour to show his project. Now the problem escalates. The public loves it but ";Audrey II"; looks more peeked everyday, until quite by accident Seymour discovers something that it THRIVES upon. You won't find much left of the charm incorporated into the Roger Corman piece, but Greene (who originated the role off-off Broadway) and Moranis (Surprisingly) are a strong vocal team paired with veteran Levi Stubbs of the FourTops. There's no more Joe Finck, Seymour's 'pharmaceutical' Mother and biggest admirer are omitted and the role Jack Nicholson made his own does NOT change hands to ho-hum Bill Murray. Why James Belushi is here, I STILL don'tknow. But the plant is the star and the worth of the show, just as in the original. Was this review helpful? Sign In 1-2 of 2 Per Page | ||
