It is #1 on the weird movies list. A lot of scenes were nasty and almost made me puke. My favorite character is Cha-Ka. Some parts were funny. It is really weird. Was this review helpful? I did not expect that. I made a terrible mistake in seeing this film. I was expecting a remake of a hokey little family series. What I saw was a few funny jokes mixed in with filthy language and horrible acting. Will Ferrell could easily have pulled off the REAL Marshall character. And by making Will and Holly NOT be family members, it gives the cast no reason to bond or work together in the same way. It was almost incestuous seeing the Holly character kissing the Marshall character. Profanity does not make a movie sell. I only wish I could get my money back so I could say that I had no part in helping its ratings. I'm ashamed to even say I saw it. The original series was silly and hokey, but it had an innocent charm and was a good FAMILY show! What a travesty. Was this review helpful? I was appalled at how I heard blasphemy 3 times in the first 5 minutes. Then I heard foul language alot after that. What were they thinking? Even the parent of 3 toddlers watching this film was squirming uncomfortably in his set. Then I heard discusting vulger crude humor, totally lacking any taste. The script is absolute garbage. The only ones enjoying the movie were the foul mouthed, rude, obnoxious punks in the back row; spiting obcenities at the audience for telling them to shut up. That's the kind of people this movie draws. Do yourselves a favor see Terminator Salvation instead; atleast that movie you can see with the family without plugging your childs ears too much. Will Ferell should be ashamed of himself. It was a shameless excuss for a movie. A absolute piece of steaming dung. I was not enjoying myself even a little. This is suppose to be fun!!! They may have the Sleestacks but where is the reverance? They didn't respect the material. Come on guys. Who let the Saturday Night Live crew get a hold of this. I treasure the original. Had some funny parts but on a whole, not worth the money. Didn't care for the insult of Jesus' love for mankind. What Will said about his love being greater than Jesus' love for dying on the cross--insulting. No one laughed and it was dead quiet for a few minutes after Will made that statement. I enjoyed some of it. Some of the humor I do not believe was meant for children, even 13 year olds (PG-13). I laughed some, but I wouldn't tell anyone to spend their money to go see it. America hates Danny Mcbride. It does not matter how many hollywood idiots like Danny Mcbride. If you do not know you are a hollywood idiot check to see if you think Danny Mcbride should be in your movie. Not only will Danny Mcbride *mess* up any movie he is in but he will make everyone else look like *poo* including the people who have the *nerve* to say they liked to see the movie he was in. Danny Mcbride is such a *shiny* actor he deserves to be cleaning dog *poo* for Denise Richards. Not only is Danny Mcduckingpooactorbride a bad actor but he is also a waste of a comedian.
If getting fat and getting high warrants an income in hollywood you all should be taken out and shot. I am not bitter. Danny Mcbride is a moron who would *mouth* off your father for a job. Riding someones coattails is a good way to make people hate you and Danny Mcbride smells like *coattails*. The reason why Danny Mcbride told you he never sold drugs is because hes a liar and doesnt want to goto jail for selling drugs to kids.
This movie would have been watchable if you painted the theatre I saw it in with Danny Mcbrides blood. I was totally amazed that they spent so much money on special effects for a movie that had no plot and was ridiculous in every way.
