Posted: 9/21/2009A review of King Kong by Eaglespruce
Ann Darrow could have died in a flash when the ape took her to the dining area or graveyard and shook her. The ape shook her several times and not once her head snapped. She was shaken again during the battle with T-Rex. Come on! Dinosaurs Her face was still pretty but not beaten up or smeared? huh? was falling on top of each other? huh? It took away the Kong for awhile. And the ape danced around with Ann in his hand on the ice lake..come on!!! Romance was going a bit too far! The kong being that heavy would have fallen right thru the ice before he step another foot in it!. Too many flaws for so much profit. I don't get it. Seems that Peter Jackson's ego was tyring to blow Jurassic Park away. He should have retired from Lord Of The Ring!

Posted: 1/17/2009A review of King Kong by HickalopeProductions
Remakes? Some are good, and some are unnecessary. This one was good. Peter Jackson's idea was simple. He loved the original, and he thought that it could be done again with the technology we have today. He pulled it off, and the result was a good, amusing movie, which makes Jurassic Park pale in comparison. There were a couple of flaws, the main one being the length. This is a 3 hour movie that could've been 2 hours. Besides that, I liked it. It remained true to the original while it had it's own unique twists. However, the original is much better and is one of my favorite movies. I give this a 8.1 out of 10. Now, I must admit, I am sort of tired of all these remakes going on now, especially the remakes of movies that aren't even that old, like Friday the 13th. Here, however, are some movies that I would like to see remade: 4.Them! A good movie, one that deserves a remake. There's plenty of other atomic-age movie monsters that could be remade as well, such as the Beast from 20,000 Fathoms. 3. Godzilla. An American version, but one that isn't a T-Rex, or a girl. One that has atomic-breath. And he should fight other monsters too, like King Ghidorah, Gigan, King Kong, and... the smog monster. That'd be awesome. 2. Frankenstein. One that remains true to the 1931 movie, not the book. 1. Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein. It should follow the same storyline as the original, but Abbott and Costello should be replaced by modern comedians like Steve Carell, Will Ferrell, or Jack Black or something.

I grade movies and I was hoping to give this on at least an A-. I couldnt, it didnt excite me at all. I thought it was a little weird and the old one was much better. I dont recomend it, because it could have used more dialogue and less Oh Oh Ah Ah. Its only my opinion but it could have been done better.

First of all to you idiots who thought it was too long, I wish they made it longer, so i could tie you all down to a chair and make you watch it. I personally think that king kong is one of the greatest movies ever made. and not just this one. im talking about all versions of king kong, the original, the second one, and this one. Congrats to Peter Jackson for doing a spectacular job at remaking one of the greatest films ever made. And not just Peter Jackson, also Naomi Watts, Adrien Brody, Jack Black, and everyone else who appeared in this ground breaking film.

Before I start my review, I will let you people who rated it at 1 star just because it is three-plus hours long something You are all idiots. That being said, This is the best action movie I have ever seen, and even calling it an action movie may be an insult to it. The first hour or so is designed to help you focus on the characters, while adding some clever humor and truly believable romance. The rest of the movie is a combination of thrilling action sequences and touching Ann-Kong interaction scenes. You almost forget Kong is fake, not because of the special effects, but because of how he is carefully portrayed by Andy Serkis. The casting is terrific. Myself, I was a little leery about Jack Black being casted in a movie being directed by Peter Jackson, but his handling of Carl Denham is spot-on, and Naomi Watts plays a perfect Ann. Just to wrap this up, near-perfect acting, brilliant directing, great special effects. And, just in case youre wondering, I HAVE seen the 33 Kong. The only other movie that reaches this level in my opinion, is the Best-Picture winning drama Crash.

Where to start? Maybe at the beginning. When i saw the trailer for this movie, I laughed because i never have seen Jack Black play such a serious role, and eventually when my friends dragged me to see it, I laughed even more. I must agree this is definitely better then any of the original King Kong movies that Ive seen which involve a miniture ape running amongst the people of the town creating havoc. But, and i must agree that this movie is much longer then it should be. People say that Lord of the Rings is longer, but Lord of the Rings was actually GOOD. It was about 3 hours long, and for an 1hr and a half, absolutely nothing was happening, it was dull--No one did anything it seemed that it was just a regular Sunday afternoon. But after the 130mins, is why i gave this movie 3 stars. Although I slept in some parts of this movie, I absolutely loved how Kong beat those dinosaurs, it was amazing. The CG were superb, it almost looked real, and for those people who say that they could point out that they were fake..No REALLY? We know theyre fake and we know you can pinpoint every aspect thats CG, but look how far weve come. Anyways this movie probably shouldnt be aimed at the younger ages, because youd only like this movie if you saw the original and compared how much better this is. All i can say is if you like watching 3 hours of your life pass away, then this is the movie to rent.

A lot of people are complaining its too long.Well, Lord of the RingsThe Return of the King was longer, and I dont hear any complaints. The people who complain must have short attention spans. I sat down and watched it with three of my friends, and we all loved it!I previously saw it in the theater and it was worth the money. Dont listen to the complainers, watch it and you WILL become transfixed. The three hours wizzed by.The sound was so realistic, and OH MY GOD, the effects were stunning! The acting was REALLY good. I was suprised as you were to know Jack Black was in it.But believe me, he was perfect for the role.Watch King Kong and you will LOVE it! Trust me.

King Kong is a great remake of the 1976 remake of the original and stands clearly in the forefront. Just running a bit too long, it captures the essence of the beast and the vulnerability of man when greed, power and fame are at hand. It also captures the tenderness of a giant ape smitten by a beautiful woman who also grows to feel a strange attraction towards the doomed ape. The special effects were outstanding. The only thing that was over done was the movement of Kong which was much too fast for its size. The 1976 Dino De Laurentiis remake of Kong was more realistic in that aspect, which in turn made you feel the hugeness of the ape, especially when you heard the timing in between his pounding footsteps when it walked. If you have a LOT of time to blow, this version is still quite the remake of remakes.

Well ive gotten use to all three of Peter Jacksons Lord of the rings so the timing didnt bother me. And if youve like Lord of the rings and dont care for the timing, then this is the A-ok movie for you. Its a great stroy Made me cry the first time. Ive watched the first two King Kongs and they were excellent and personally i think that peter jacksons is the best.

Well, lets see. First off, this movie is way TOO long. If it was 2 hrs and 45 minutes then it would have been awesome....er. It doesnt really need the I love you and I wrote a play for you and that crap. But it is still 3 hr. Of Awesome ape action with good acting, amazing special effects, and cool action. Definately a Masterpiece.

Well, I would like to first say the time spent watching this movie was the longest three hours of my life. I thought that the special effects were amazing and that the acting was great also, but the length of the film was just too much. If it was half the time, lets say about an hour and a half, this movie would have been perfect. Also, there were too many -our eyes met and it was magic- scenes in there. Those could have been left out also. Overall, a good movie to rent, but not to pay twenty bucks to see at the movies.
