my generation has ever seen.
Demmes' film shows how a strong man can take the 'slings & arrows'
of outraged Americans, & come out ahead of his critics, by sheer perserverence.
The film itself is very intimate, visually-often looks like grainy super 16mm &
with some NAT sound, that is a little too natural.
Even some on screen info, while very artsy, is sometimes hard to make out.
Style issues aside, when you watch this film, if you begin to consider,
that this country has gone from emulating
