Insomnia has a brilliant storyline and Al Pacino and Robin Williams show you there great acting skills here. I am Pacino fan and out of all his films i have seen that he has been in Insomnia is his best one for his acting. I am not a big Williams fan and i dont find him all that great an actor but wow was i wrong Robin Williams was brilliant in this. this should of the oscar people should have said best supporting actor goes to Robin Williams and Best Actor goes to Al Pacino. does this review help???

If you suffer from insomnia, this movie will cure it...I love Al Pacino and Robin Williams but this piece was very disappointing...It wasn't them, it was the script...it was dull and uninteresting...I rented this for a week and each time I tried to watch it, I literally fell asleep...I finally returned it not knowing how it ended...I could not get through the whole thing without dozing...I can't say that I want my two hours back because I got a good nap everytime I tried to watch it...

The cinematography was the best part of this movie. The acting was also pretty good. But the storyline &*^*ed. It was soooo slow.....it really would cure insomnia (as another reviewer put it). I wouldn't be able to hold my eyeballs open long enough to watch it again....honestly!!

This film was predictable down to the last bite. Although it had some awsome acting, and two of Hollywoods elites, (Pacino,Williams) the storyline absolutely bored me to death. I kept wondering when it would get exciting, until it ended.

I am a huge Christopher Nolan fan and a huge fan of Al Pacino. This was a wonderful movie. It had wonderful directing, camera movements, and don't forget acting. Al Pacino had a very good shot of being nominated for ";Best Actor"; for the ";Academy Awards"; but he did not get nominated. Thing I was always thinking about was did Al Pacino really want to kill his partner or did not getting any sleep just get to him, and did Robin Willams mean to kill that girl. For some parts of the movie Pacino and Willams team-up, but that can't last for long. This is a truly great movie that I am sure you will enjoy.

It made me wish they would let you bring a gun to the theatre to shoot the person who made it.

Al Pacino again is in great form as Detective Will Dormer in this well-directed thriller from Christopher Nolan (Memento). The movie includes a solid performance from both Oscar-alumns Robin Williams and Hillary Swank.Pacino as the sleep-deprived antagonist/protagonist takes us through a twisted plot involving deception, misdirection, and unmitigated aggression. Anyone who has had a bout of extended sleeplessness with applaud the excellent performance given by Pacino, as an Oscar nomination should within reach. Nolan delivers another solid outing with his depth of character, and great sense for location and scene. This is another example of why he is one of the best new young prospects on the scene. A must see, and a great buy for your personal collection.

I think that Insomnia was GREAT! I though the twist and all if it was breathtaking. Who hasent seen it should it wont be a bad rental/buy. And its worth money that is need to be spent in the purchase. They actors were triffic and so was the scenery and what happens when everything is done. The only thing i didnt like is how the end, ended. But other than that I would still give it 5 stars!

It took me three attempts to get through this dissappointing movie. It was anticlimactic and really slow. It was just like Al Pacino's character, sleepy with quick, little jolts. Great acting and range by the TWO stars was the only thing that kept me coming back to finish the movie. There was a good chemistry and relationship between Williams and Pacino that they should have expanded on, taken deeper, but they didn't. It was if the two were just displaying their talent and range in a movie instead of at a local theatre house showcase. It'll be on HBO or Showtime soon enough, you can definitely wait on this one.

I would have to say that this movie does start out abit on the slow side but once everything starts to speed up this movie is too good to miss. the storyline and characters are all perfect. Its definately not a movie to miss. I would definately recommened this movie to everyone.

You know, I thought that a movie with Al Pacino and Robin Williams would be awesome. I was ready for some major mind blowing scenes, and you know what??? It didn't happen. I was never more disappointed with a movie than I was with Insomnia. I must have fallen asleep about a hundred times because it just dragged on, that it was almost painful!!! It was like pulling teeth to get the movie to reach a point, or an ending for that matter. If anyone does suffer from insomnia, I HIGHLY recommend this flick, otherwise...Stay away!!!

As an Alaskan native, the first thing I found humorous was the worthless blind shading the room. Every Alaskan has heavy curtians, shades, etc. to allow for a decent summer sleep. The murder twist was a good one; and very believeable. I really empathized with Al when he was trying to keep the jeep on the road. Been there, done that. Robin Williams can do no wrong in a movie, and this one was no exception. And the scenery! WOW! I miss my home state. :-( DVD Complaint: No DTS! only DD5.1.
