The Meg Ryan I love in You've Got Mail has tragically been mutated into two face for this movie. Her plastic surgery is so distracting that it almost made me forget what a terrible movie this was. I figured it was a guy gets dumped, moves to Michigan and finds something in KS's character, rebuilds life, writes book, the end. Instead it was mother develops crush, daughter develops crush, wierd competition between mother and daughter with some cancer and infidelity thrown in, which in turn just equals all around weirdness. Plus there always has to be annoying, well ahead of her years little sister who points out the obvious during the akward moments. It had so much potential to be a cute movie, but somewhere something went terribly wrong.

I thought this was a really good movie. I went to go see this because Meg Ryan is in the movie and that I am a big fan of Meg Ryan. Also, Kristen Stewart Meg Ryan did an amazing job in the movie. I thought that the guy would choose the daughter.

The potential it builds in the first half is wasted in the second half. If youre gonna make a movie that eventually fizzles, at least have the male lead shag the mother AND daughter, inheret well-earned big bucks from crazy grandma, and then revisit the famous ex-girlfriend to show he has moved on. If Kristen Stewart wasnt skinny hot, I would have walked out after either kissing scene because those are when you stop hoping for something more than some sappy estrogen fest.

I have a hard time deciding between 1 and 2 stars, so 1.5 stars, I guess. Meg Ryan was very good, as she pretty much is, in any role she plays. The acting in this movie was pretty good by all, but the plot was just not good. You didnt get to know the characters very well or care about them. The best thing about this movie was the Grandmother. She was hilarious and the only thing that made me laugh or enjoy the movie. Except for the Grandma, I kind of wish I had not spent the money or time. This movie plot seemed to have no point what-so-ever. The movie drug slowly the whole way through.

This was a pretty good movie with some problems. The first 30 minutes...great! But then it moved sloooooowly. I really dont think it was as good as some TV movies. But Anthony Hopkins was great as always!
