There is a difference between watching the movie and actually getting it. No, you actually have to think to get this comedy, everything stupid about it is the satire on lives today. If you don't understand it within the first 30 minutes, turn it off, because you won't get any of it.
And by the way, Charles1030, write your own reviews. Almost everything you said is just worded differently from Carina Chocano review in Los Angele's Times and Fernardo F. Crouce in Slate Magazine. You sound like one of the futuristic characters in this movie. I can picture you right now watching, Ow, My Balls! ALONE. Now back to the purpose of a movie review-not a place for a loney misogynists rant. This movie was entertaining and creative. My favorite part involved the opening scenes when the amount of offspring produced by the educated couple and the idiot were compared. I also loved the scene depicting the cityscape of the future-the buildings tied together to stay up, the giant piles of garbage... Was this review helpful? But its Judges gimlet-eyed knack for nightmarish extrapolation that makes Idiocracy a cathartic delight.
A satire for its time. What Judge is less sure of here than in his previous, perfectly pitched live-action comedy Office Space, is how to build a complete movie around his key ideas.
If you crave a lively and funny trek through the farcical possibilities of unchecked dimwit power, Judge is still your guy. Just go rent Beavis and Butt-Head Do America instead of Idiocracy. Well done it could be funny and smart, poorly done it may be better suited for those dim-witted people portrayed in the movie. Im going to be optimistic. Was this review helpful? As for only women being stupid enough to rate a movie based on the hot cast, I have three words for you, Dukes of Hazard. Didnt see i,t but can only imagine how stupid it was, yet it was the number one movie its opening weekend. My guess is the audience was filled with tongue wagging men hopeless in their qwest to see Jessica in her Daisy Dukes. And you think women are stupid! Grow up! Was this review helpful? Sort your heads out ladies cause youve already ruined music by falling for the marketing of the watered down pop sht so now music has become more about making money than entertainment.
