It's time to quit taking everything to heart and lighten up the world. Have some laughs, sit back, and relax. Although they tried to make it PC by showing that yes, life is more difficult when you are gay, and including a few non prejudiced characters, mostly this movie wallows in homophobia (gays all act alike), sexism (women secretly find sexual harrassment sexy), racism (same old joke about Asians mispronouncing R's). . . if you long for the good old days when women were barefoot and pregnant and gays lived in fear for their lives you might like it. Most of the funny scenes were in the previews. Plus the crossed the line of funny-offensive quite a few times. If you are looking for a great movie I would pick something else to go see. It was better than expected and I laughed out loud alot. yeah, some degreee of predicability here, but pretty funny and not too corny. What were you expecting when you saw the previews? A heart warming slice of life? A serious discussion on homosexuality, domestic partnership, or the lack of heart of the pension system? Oh come on! Just looking at it, you already had to have known it was a brainless slapstick comedy. Should you expect much from it? Hell no! But I digress, I thought it was a great movie. The jokes were hilarious, well timed, and the material was handled well. On the downside- it did lag a bit and some of the jokes were a tad repetitive, but I can live with that and I still laughed at them.
