I think all the actor s were great in this movie. But of course the reason why I watched the first time was because River Phoenix was in it...but this is a gret movie. Very funny. It has to be the funniest film I've ever seen, and I've seen alot. I laughed so hard I cried! Definitely on the top of my all-time-favorites list. Wish it were available for purchase on DVD. Sign In 1 out of 1 users found this helpful A Comedy Too Unbeliavable To Be TruePosted: 3/2/2003A review of I Love You to Death by 1994Rangerfan1 Based on the true story of Marcello Mastroianni, the begins when Rosalie Boca (Tracey Ulman) finds her husband Joey (Kevin Kline), who owns a pizzeria, is cheating on her. Her mother played very well by Joan Plowright, convivces her to kill him in order not to see him with another woman. She calls Deco Nod (River Phoenix) a worker at the pizzeria who has a crush on her. After being shot in the head, but still not dead, they hire two of Deco's friends, Harlon and Marlin played by William Hurt and Keanu Reeves respectively who again shoot him, this time by the heart, but find Joey still very much alive. The five are arrested, but Joey sets them loose seeing in his perspective that Rosalie loved him to death, and could not bear to see him with anyone else.
