But I rented the movie & fell in love with it!!
I luv the dog Samantha but i didn't like that she died :(
Will Smith did a great role!
And the movie is worth watching for those freaks that wrote those comments!!!

Will Smith is at his best in this performance of a scientist who may be the only person who survived a virus. Will plays the difficult role of Robert Neville. Smith has to talk to himself, his dog, and various other inanimate objects throughout the movie. Will shows himself to be a great actor in I Am Legend. Was this review helpful? The special effects are incredible on a big screen tv! The desolation of New York is breathtaking. Will Smith did a fantastic job acting. He has two scenes which are Oscar worthy. (One where he chases his dog into a building, one when he brings his dog back to his lab following an attack). I found this movie to be quite intense at times. I read many of the prior posts and many of the negative comments about how does he have power etc.- the answers are in the movie if one looks close enough. I rented the Blu-Ray and will be buying it soon. Was this review helpful? the movie was alsom, i went and watched it at the movie theater and its was a thrill ride!!!! best movie i have ever seen . I wish it was a little longer but still the best movie . Thank goodness I waited for DVD. The only redeeming part was the scene where Will is chasing herd of deer in a mustang. Why did he not shoot the lions? Did he not think he may see them again?

While the vision of a deserted NY is fascinating we get there without any clue on how does it feel to be the last man on earth, that is the theme of the movie.
Smith is good at shooting zombies, although in an infested city I would go around in something sturdier than a Tahoe SUV...let's say an APC? Humvee?
There is no attempt on exporing the mind of the survivor other than learning that like Tom Hanks with "wilson" he talks with mannequins he placed himself.
But it's not as fun as in "castaway" and he's almost creepy when flirts with one of them.

I love zombie movies and it definatly gave the creepy feeling all throughout. I don't think the graphics were very good though, i wish they would had used makeup and stuff, it just kind of distracted from the movie, they didn't look real to me. Yes, it was really sad when the dog died. Great story line. It ended kind of abruptly... wish they would had explained more of the science of why people went psycho.. overall a fun watch. My husband watched it twice, he liked it so much! Will Smith is EXCELLENT!
