Date  Helpful Rating 1 out of 1 users found this helpful  GreatPosted: 3/15/2008A review of House of Wax by sethjohnson house of wax is a film with mainly a well known cast. with people such as Chad Michael Murray from One Tree Hill, Elisha Cuthbert from the Girl Next Door, and Paris Hilton from all of the stripper news, and don't forget about Jared Padalecki from New York Minute with the Olsen twins. with this cast, it already casts decent attention.
when it comes to the actual movie, it is a complete shocker. i do admitt the music was sort of dull, except for the song with the end credits (Helena by My Chemical Romance) but the scenes were terryfying. i gasped and jumped through most of the movie, i even screamed when one of the characters had their head cut off.
the movie is filled with gore, and is not a movie for the squeemish type. if you are into bloody, suspenseful movies, then this is the perfect movie. if u prefer the type of movie like the original Halloween was, -a stalking movie filled with suspense- then u should just rent the original Halloween. all in all, the movie was great, and i give it a 5!! It still would have been better if there wasnt a million shots of Paris in as little clothing possible. It seriously made this movie look like a joke with her in it. Otherwise... it was alright. This was the SLOWEST, most BORING movie i have ever seen. I fast-forwarded more than half the movie because it was so boring and pointless! There were like 3 good parts. The rest @ed. Paris Hiltons death was the highlight of this movie. Please, dont rent this movie. You wont like it unless you like very very slow-moving movies with tons of pointless and stupid scenes. This one is different Carly, Paige and their buddies camp out for a night while traveling to a college football game. After an unpleasant run-in with a mysterious trucker, they awake to find their car disabled and have to hike to a nearby town. Soon they are is stalked by a killer, forcing them to a museum called Trudys House of Wax. The movie was good it was scary gorey it will make you scream. You should see it. Was this review helpful? It had some of the greatest scary scenes ever to be released in a horror movie. But does it seem a little copy-catish? I dont think so. I prefer horror movies like this one. Every horror movie like this one is so incredibly awesome. If this movie werent as long as it is, I swear, I wouldve walked out of the theater, but it was extremely interesting and scary, especially with how Paris Hilton died. In my opinion, she deserved what she got in this movie. Anyone else can agree with that. I mean, I never saw the video of what she did, and Im happy that I didnt, because lets be honest, she just cant act. I hate the fact that it took so long to kill her in this movie too, only because of what the posters for this movie said. In anyone reads this, and never saw the movie poster, it said, Come See Paris Die. Im happy that I saw her die because that was what made the movie and made me love it like I do. When you have started watching the movie you can say..actually what will happen after 10 minutes. It has nothing new to offer ..the painful deaths may seem to you ...adapted from Final Destination. But yes ,if you are a fan of Elisha or Paris(she was a complete waste) you can watch them and spend your time. Otherwise stay home give some time to your family and friends ...that will be helpful. It was planned perfectly, the acting wasnt bad, and the ending was awesome. All that die, die in a unique fashion. If you are the kind of person that likes symbolism, this is full of it! Just an example, the conjoined brothers were separated at birth. Their death at the end of the movie conjoins them one final time. They are lying on top of each other as wax seals them together, making them conjoined twins once more. I thought that was pretty cool. It really does have suspense in it. Some may joke at the unique deaths because some may be a little unrealistic, but I enjoyed every second of the movie. Many times I was at the edge of my seat, nervously shoveling down popcorn. Paris Hilton, in my opinion, done an excellent job. She had small parts, and mabye that is why, but I thought every actor done his or her part great. Ive never seen the original House of Wax, so I cant compare, but this one was really good. The best thriller, horror movie I had seen in a while. All of the movie was sequenced perfectly. I simply fell for this movie. If you are in to scary movies, I would recommend buying it. If scary movies arent your thing, I dont know what to say. I guess rent it from Movie Gallery and watch Paris Hilton, the n bring it back! Was this review helpful? Sure paris hilton needs acting lessons but the movie was still entertaining and very scary. Chad Michael murray and Elisha Cuthbert play twins who are total opposites and they are heading on a road trip to see a football game with their college friends. but one by one they start dying. Bo and vincent two brothers were born conjoined twins and one of the brothers has a deformed face. the two were badly treated when they were children and began to kill all people who entered the town of wax. everything in the town was made of wax. i thought the set looked amazing and the cast did a great job. I love the part when Bo super glues Carlys mouth shut and then she opens it and her lips bleed and she cries out for nick to help her. Chad Michael Murray was definately the best part of this movie he is soooo hot. plus My Chemical Romances song Helena play at the end credits!!!! Was this review helpful? And that is the rating on this movie. Its rated R but since it is now out on video I had my mom rent it for me since I am only 14 so if anything you would think that I would be the one being scared if it is supposedly too scary for anyone under 17. I even checked the reasons for it being R. I think it was Language, Sexual content, and probably scary themes or something to that effect. The only reason why it was R that I could see through viewing it was that they said the f-word twice (which automatically rates it R) and that Paris Hilton parades around in her underwear. Other than that, even the gore wasnt too bad for 13 year olds to see. I know for a fact that if I was 17, I wouldnt waste my time on this flick if I was looking to be scared. There was enough gore for the horror fans and it was not bad. Pretty interesting but...why do these kids in movies insist on going to strange creepy places alone?
