Her parents could of steped in and said no if they thought it was not a good choice of film for her. And didnt JODIE FOSTER make a movie when she was a kid about her being a prostitute! ITS JUST A MOVIE ITS NOT REAL!!!!!!!!! Her parents knew that and thats why shes in the film so get a grip on reallity and stop complaining! Was this review helpful? You people all sound very angry and its no wonder if you are watching this kind of content. It makes me angry too. We know it happens in the world and we do everything we can to protect our children from it. Do we need to see it in a movie to know that-NO! To all of you judging those that are offended by this get over it. Is it necessary to get a point? Ive seen movies where it was just mentioned that someone was raped and the impression was made enough. Give me a break if you have to be so graphic to get some point across about child rape! Get a grip people. Viewing dramatic films about social issues encourages discussions about those issues. No actual sexual abuse occurred during the making of this film, and no laws were broken. The fact that we are talking on a public forum about CHILD SEXUAL ABUSE is proof of the films social significance. Bravo to the filmmakers. Was this review helpful? Girls that age and even younger are actually getting things like this happened to them. What, yall are just gonna sit back and tell them that its bad, well guess what these kinda things are happening and you know it. You are all just afraid or it, or just are too stubborn to admit. I wanna tell them and the 12 year old girl, good job! People need to know...because things are always happening and we see them everyday. This movie does not show the whole scene of it, it just shows enough to get the picture. Im only 14 and i understand this, so you all need to grow up. And if you have a problem with it, then dont watch it. Nobody in this world is making you watch it. Let it go...its just a movie, but a movie that needs to be shown to the world. This is the absolute insult and injustice to children (and women)---no wonder we have such problems with child porn and moestation in this country---

I think that is the best definition of hypocrisy I have seen yet. The sick people are the people that ignore this films message and plug their ears to what any one with a brain cell has to say.
Child rape is a problem because people dont want to hear about it or deal with it. I was a catholic for 15 years, and all I saw was self honoring lip service. Preaching this and that but only to neglect those beliefs and words the second they leave the church. Inexcusable and damaging behavior such as child rape wont stop until all know of its presence and how wrong it is. This film sends that message in a bold, loud, but tasteful manner. I applaud Fanning on her maturity as a person and actress to take this role and to see its message with clear eyes. Any person to block this films purpose to enlighten is no better than a child rapist. Was this review helpful? The child was not harmed in any way other than the one saying this is child abuse, they are the ones abusing the child putting sick information in the poor kids head, and whats up with the catholic calling this child abuse, like they have any room to speak, they are the ones protecting pedos.
