This movie had passed all of my expectations and more. The only problem I had was at the end when the only girl to survive had won her freedom. And to be honest, I really think that the penis she was holding up was fake. I know it was fake, because if any guy had a penis that big, then, how would he be married? Yeah, see my point? And thankfully, I am not gay, but that part did strike some terror into me. What a perfect movie for this Halloween. I really do think it was ten times better than the first one. But yes, I am working tomorrow, and it is almost 2300 hours here. So, I will end this here. Peace easy. Was this review helpful? Once the girl who was hanging upside down was tortured with the sickle and the blood fell all over the sick woman who rubbed the blood all over her self, I got up and let the theater and my boyfriend followed, this is not a movie I would ever recommend to any human. Well, I was disappointed. Tho the storyline flowed from one story to the new one, there was only one torture-murder, and other than being very bloody, it went down pretty fast rather than making us shake with fear and anticipation. The remainder of the victims had wimpy scared rich people who couldn't go thru with it. One of the great aspects to the first one was the torture scenes....in which u didn't know what was going to happen next. But in this one, you weren't given that scary, gory, adventure. Instead, it would get started, then fall flat. Save this one for the DVD release. If you go see this, you'll say to your date as you leave....that wasn't nearly as scary-gory as the first one. I mean the first movie had a better story in my opinion. Still, being a huge fan of the first Hostel, I like how they did a great job of truly making it a sequel and not a totally new movie. I wish they would have done more with the main character from the first one besides just having him get his head cut off five minutes into the movie. SO if you liked the first one, then chances are you will like this one too. Don't go in expecting to see the greatest movie ever made........but overall....Hostel 2 is a good movie. Well written and tight story that takes up from where the 1st one ended. This has got to be one of the best horror movies I have ever seen, and I was riveted to the screen for each and every minute of it. If you like this type of movie, you WILL NOT be disappointed. Let's face it, Roth is just not that good as a director. Cabin Fever was a piece of crap and so was the 1st hour of the 1st Hostel. In this one, it's pretty much the entire movie. I keep hearing about a twist ending, whoever is talking about this must be talking about another movie. This movie just ends boringly, no excitement, no chase, no suspense, no gore, nothing, just another decapitation. It was easily discernible the role reversal of the 2 bad guys. I'm reading reviews for fun, and I see a ton of people bashing the nature of the film and the people who interested in seeing it. Here's a thought - if this genre bothers you, DONT SEE IT!!! You are the people who are so bored with your lives you have find things to complain about. Yes, it's a sick world, and guess what, this stuff probably actually happens. But here in America, you have the right to see whatever movie you choose, and maybe you should consider something more like Happy Feet.
