I still dont understand why this was rated R. Besides from some violent, bloody scenes, thsi movie could have been rated PG-13. The ending is totally shocking. My whole family was shocked. Dakota Fanning did great and so did the dude who played her dad. It was a little confuseing but DEINATLY suspenseful. Squeakers is still having problems with opening her closet. I thought this movie is the best thriller movie ever. its very pyschologicall And a Fun Fun scarefest. THe Acting is extremely well done especially Dakota Fanning And Robert de Niro. It basically a movie About A FatHeR Who is trying to reach out to her daughter and bond with her since she dealt with severe Trauma. So de Niro Decides to Move a star a clean slate in a low populated towm right in the woods. In the first half of the movie de niro tries to reach out to fanning(emily) and tries to find a friend for her. Things didn't turn out so great UntiL de niro found a chilling discovery from emily. He finds out that Emily(fanning) made a a friend named "Charlie". He doesn't know that cHarlie is imaginary or physically reall. Things start to go bad when he finds shoking things that supposedly charlie did but blames it on emily. a surprise twist occures towards the end n it resulted in a shocking ending. Overall its a great thriller with chilling wonderfull scenes. If You Like Secret Window Then You Should Check this ouT. So grab ur popcorn n EnJOy!!! Was this review helpful? Although the end was indeed a surprise, it's also been done too many times to seem anything but a convenient way out. Ten minutes too long and underplayed, maybe some sexual tension would have helped this film. Maybe the budget was too low. Aside from great talent, not more than an average film. It was one that kept me on the edge of me seat and wondering what was going to happen next and who Charlie was. Thats as far as i will go within the movie, I know i personally don't like when i find out main and important events within a movie before i see it so I won't do the same to others. Though it is a must see. Dakota Fanning and Robert DeNiro did wonderful acting jobs for their characters. It wouldn't of been the same without them. Was this review helpful? I know I do and this movie was too easy to figure out. It did a good job of having a variety of creepy characters, so that you had plenty of suspects. For those reviewers who had seen the movie and did not know who charlie was must have been sleeping or need to learn how to read between the lines. The movie explains it. I know some other people in the theater were confused by the very end. It is the same as the plot twist! I don't think it was a bad movie, but it was not that good. Sign In 0 out of 0 users found this helpful You won't like it if you're dense...Posted: 2/15/2005A review of Hide and Seek by Anonymous I just saw this movie last night and thought one of my co-workers had ruined it for me, but I turned out to be incredibly surprised anyway. Dinero was completely believable in his role, while Fanning's character seemed to be the one out of it. This movie was great. You were turned in several different directions as to the identitiy of Charlie before you can be absolutely certain who Charlie is. Once you know, you can piece back the clues of the whole movie for one eerie and creepy revelation. I saw the movie with 3 friends, and none of them got it. They all thought it was stupid, but that's because they weren't smart enough to piece together all of the information, it was quite simple for me. If you're into psychological thrillers this movie is a MUST SEE!!!! If you're too dense, you will walk away dissapointed. Anyone who has already seen the movie and wants help understanding some of the parts or has questions, feel free to contact me!! Was this review helpful? The acting by the main characters was pretty good. However there were parts that should have either been left out or more detail added. The new girlfriend and niece added little to the story and seemed out of place. He kissed her on their first meeting and the father was much to old for her. Was this review helpful? Dakota fanning is a four (4) star actress all the way and Robert DiNero was not bad himself, but the script was boring and after sitting in the theater for 45 minutes I was begining to wonder when the action was going to start. I even dosed off some and I can honestly say that it was only exciting the last 15 minutes of the movie and then it was like okay was that the big deal. Ol righty then.

I mean, in the preveiws, it made you think that it was so unbeliveably scary....you wouldn't know what to do. Well, they were wrong. Me, I am the most scared person of movies ever. I hate anything that the comercial calls scary. Tales from the hood scares me....and I thought the movie was stupid. C'mon! Who was Charlie? Why did the little girl run into the woods when she could've ran to that gas station at the beggininng of the movie. Who the hell was that guy that her mom was with when she was cheating? What jumped out of the closet when that girl fell out the window? Ladies and Gentlemen...I simply dont know.
