Robert Pattinson plays Cedric Diggory in the movie and does a pretty good job with it; with his accent and all. Was this review helpful? Both the book and the movie are filled with inveigle (to persuade with trickery) characters, and they this movie is the first to have a main character absquatulate (die). In this movie Harry is in a hobbledehoy (awkard) sort of age. Now a new goety (black magic) is starting to arise and it takes the world by storm. Basically it is all about how Voldemort comes bacj. The dissapointing thing about the movie is that there're are many lacunas (holes or gaps) in it. Not to mention the Dumbledore in the books is a lot cannier (knowing, wise). Overall the movie is good but the books are better. So if you haven't read the book you'll like the movie but if you have you might be dissapointed. Was this review helpful? Not only where scences left out, but entire characters! I was turned off by the movie within the frist 10 minutes when Barty Jr. was at Lord Voldemorts side. I was all like OMGWTFBBQ! I was looking forward to seeing the on-screen depictions of Bill and Charlie Weasly, as well as Ludo Bagman. Why was there no mention of any of the Weaslys for that matter? Where was Sirius Black, Pigwedgeon, and why wasnt Rita Skeeter not revealed to be an animangus?
I do not see how they can take this movie and proceed to a 5th being that they left out all of the details that lead up to the 5th movie. They never even went into how Voldemort was controling Barty Sr. with a Crutacious curse. While they effects in the movie they decided to show were impressive, the meat of the book was lost in translation.

The screenwriters need to be given some credit for the job they did. It hard to turn a 700 page book into a good movie ESSPECIAL when one page of script is equal to 1 minute of movie time. People complain abou tthe lengths of these movies enough as it is.
Now then. While the fat was most definately trimmed for this movie. The essential storyline was kept intact. While we missed Hermoine and her S.P.E.W. Patrol and the whole World Cup at the beginning. It was still nice to see how they worked the Tri Wizard Cup together and to finally see He-Who-Shall-Not-Be-Named. I do think the enxt coupel movies should be done LOTR style. 3 horus long so as not to cut out so much from teh books.
Over all 3 out of 5 stars. Was this review helpful? It was really choppy in the beginning (as someone has previously stated earlier) and I was also somewhat disappointed that all of the focus was clearly shifted towards the TRI-Wizard Cup and the Yule Ball. The movie didnt really do the book justice as far as the rest of the book was concerned, and while you cant fit everything into a movie I dont think no one would have mind watching an extra 30 minutes to include a few other character-building moments inbetween the three trials. From what Ive read from the review, is that maybe this movie would have been a lot better if they didnt try to cram everything into a 157 minute movie and maybe split it up, this, Im sure would have satisfied many Harry Potter Fans and those who will join their ranks. Its one thing to leave out some scenes, but they totally re-wrote the book! Believe the PG-13 rating, this movie is dark and there are several scenes that are not suitable for kids.
Read the book and skip the movie! Was this review helpful? It will be interesting when the DVD comes out to see what scenes were deleted. I suspect there will be a scene with Ron and his date for the dance. After being so traumatized by asking his date out, I was puzzled because I didnt remember seeing her at the dance at all. And to be such clever children...why is it that Ron seems oblivious to Hermiones attention to him? I mean there has never been a scene where Harry and Ron talk about Hermione as a potental girlfriend and after her angry outburst at the dance in this movie would have seemed the logical time to have for Ron and Harry to have discussed her interest in either of them. Apart from those missed opportunities for character exploration, it was good. Was this review helpful? The only thing I noticed was that the kids were definately too OLD for their parts, especially the kid that plays Harry Potter. They probably should have filmed all the movies back to back.. Sign In 74 out of 99 users found this helpful Posted: 11/20/2005A review of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire by R-Dog26 This was a great show and was filled with the most important parts of the movie. The beginning is a little choppy because they had to cut out so much, but overall, it was way worth it. NOT FOR LITTLE CHILDREN!! The end is pretty intense and is not fit for children. It is PG-13 for a reason! Was this review helpful? So when we went the theater, there was just enough seats. When the movie started, I REALLY liked the part with the portkey and the Quidditch match. If I could, I would jump into the movie. After the Dark Mark seen, everyhting seemed good. They did not show everything but showed the most parts of it. My girlfriend fell asleep but she does not really care for Harry Potter but I am a big fan of this movie. I felt really sad at the end wile Harry was able to talk to his mom and dad. This was really sad for some people in the theater and some were crying. This was his only time he got to talk to his parents in the movie but to me, this really was touching. If I could go back to see the movie in I-Max and need to pay 20, I would because I liked the movie so much! Was this review helpful? Although it does not cover the whole book, the film extracts the best and most exciting and important parts delivering a heart stopping adventure with all the thrills of a superb action movie and the true magic and awe invented by J.K. Rowlings Stories.
I highly recommend this movie, its a movie for all ages and will give everybody a truly enchanting and adrenalin rushing journey through Harrys fourth year in Hogwarts. Was this review helpful? Though I think up to when they get to Hogwarts they did way to fast, and they should have shown more of the world cup then they did, I though the stadium was really cool. But I thought the maze seen was lame, they should have done a lot more with that. The acting was much better in this film then the last three but I expiated that. The special effects were some of the best Ive ever seen as was the art and sets. It was definitely the best of the fore but I think they should have made a little longer to include more of the world cup and improve the maze, but still I cant wait to see again.
