This time, however, they were right on. Very disappointing movie. My 4 year olds favorite part of the movie??..the popcorn and snuggling with Mommy and Daddy! Not really...I loved Shrek, Finding Nemo, Antz...and I have to say this movie was definitely a let down. The comedy is sparse and feels forced. With that many good actors I thought it would be better. The only consolation was that my 4 year-old niece enjoyed it. Definitely wait until it comes out on DVD. Was this review helpful? Indeed this movie deserve what it gets.
Signs of a bad movie
Sign 1 The theater was completely empty except for me and my friend.
Sign 2 The fact that it has horrible ratings.
Sign 3 The fact that I almost miss the movie because I had to mail something before I went. Though this is unrelated it just foreshadow the crap I was about to see. I wish I had miss the movie instead of wasting 8.50 paying for the ticket.
So why is it that bad? For starters, its not even funny. A few crack here and there that might give a light giggle, but thats all it can bring. Voice acting was horrible. Character personality was off as well and their voices didnt match their characters personality. The plot was somewhat interesting. However it was a complete boredfest. I wanted to leave half way through but seeing as how I paid 8.50 for it I had to force myself to stay with all the willpower I had to see it through the end.
This movie had so much potential to be good. Sadly it made the wrong turn. It really was a Happily Never After. At least for my wallet anyways. Was this review helpful? It was a huge disappointment and completely boring. Im very easy going about movies. I like everything. But this movie was bad. Lame jokes, or no jokes at all. Bad acting. It didnt even have great animation to even make it interesting. Not even the well-known actor line up saved it. I was hoping the two little comic relief characters would pick it up. Nope. However, this was a HUGE disappointment. I have never written a negative review before...usually I try to find the good in all movies. But, this movie put my 9 yr old to sleep, LITTERALLY. There was 1 moment that was slightly cute. I was so disappointed. Still am, obviouslly, since I decided to write this review.
I do not have an issue with the idea of movies not having a hidden message or politically correct plot, but this movie was clueless. It could have been so creative, and it was a complete dissaster.
Honestly, if you decide to not watch it when it comes out on video, you are not going to miss anything, and you will save some money in the process. Was this review helpful? This movie was ridiculously stupid. The humor was so lame and I didnt know that you could have such bad acting in a computer animation movie. It was aweful. My husband who loves cartoons feel a sleep during this one. It would have been fine for video but just didnt have it for the big screen.

I laughed more in the Shrek 3 trailer than I did the entire movie. It had a lot of potential and I was very excited for it, but it let me down.
