I honestly would say this movie was ok but it was really horrible. The storyline made absolutely no sense. It was way too gory. The ending is god awful. This movie should had more suspense.

Being a horror fan since I was 4 years old, I grew up with all the classics, "The Fog, Halloween, The Shining, Day of the Dead, Dawn of the Dead. Basically every Stephen King, George Romero and John Carpenter film just to name a few of the true "Masters of Horror". So hearing of Rob Zombie's goal of remaking this classic I knew it would go one of two ways. Any director attempting this huge of an undertaking would either stay true to the story and bring it into this generation and therefore need to pull out all the stops to really do it justice. OR they would have to completely reinvent the wheel and try to make it their own version. The later of the two would have truly been a disaster. Rob showed how true a film maker he really is, I'm not big on his music, not saying he isn't talented, it's just not my genre. I can say he has really broken through the doors in the same room as the masters, he's in the very back of the room still but he is in the room now none the less. We all know too well how the remake of The Fog went down... HORRIBLE. I can't believe John Carpenter and Debra Hill actually claim they were actively supervising that abomination of a classic. So thank god they sat on the sidelines and let Rob have full control of this one. Though some my say the first half of the film was long, how Michael became the killer we all know and love, I really like seeing the history of how he became what he did. I think that was really a missing part in the original and we were left to read the book to try to figure that out. And I like the way Rob's underline tells the viewers if you don't actively become a positive part of your child’s life, don't be that stupid person in front of the news camera that tries to shirk responsibility as to why "Your little angel" did such a bad thing. Step up you idiot and be a good parent then you won't run the chance of having to move out of state to avoid the embarrassment of what your kids have done due to your negligence....

I was dying to see this movie and i actually loved it. But the thing about it was that it hardly scared me. Hell even some parts were funny. This movie really rocked but needs more actuall horror. And what i mean by that, Rob Zombie, make the scenes more brutal to the point where it will actually make me jump outta my seat. Other then that some of the charecters were sexi as hell XD but this movie was almost perfect. Lowered score due to parts not that scary and too much sex scenes. Kids watch this stuff for god's sake...

Ok another Rob Zombie failure...Ok Rob err Mr. Zombie this review goes out to you …give it up. Stop making horrible horror movies. This was the slowest awful movie that I ever wasted money on. It was worst than Devil's Rejects which was a stink o’ Rama. Your movies are totally dragged out and are just too long. Get t to the point! How about you make some graphic novels or something? How about something that you can drag out and bored the crap out of the people who like comics this time around, I’m sure Kevin Smith would appreciate that. There is like 30 minutes of movie that was a huge and total waste and didn’t serve any purpose. Oh well so when can I get my money back Rob? Now for those of you who found this movie to be good, hey it’s your money and time use it the way you choose. Me I will forever skip anything directed, written, starting, produced hell even with the music that says Rob Zombie. This movie blows it is awful, it’s too slow and a ton of plot hole and things that make you say wait what why, how and why?!?! Like how did this kid get all huge and muscular? So the criminally insane have a health spa to get all in shape???? Come man, so nobody sees the huge guy in a jumpsuit and a 15 year old mask carrying a chef knife in broad daylight? So everyone is like ooh I need to explore the crime scene rather than save my own skin. Yeah right, I am really going to investigate a body that’s bloody and smeared all over the place, and then wait for the killer. Ok man its 2007 going on 2008 who in the hell is going to stand there looking at that and not run to safety? . Rob needs to stick to making songs like Dragula which will in turn be remixed and made better by everybody else. So in other words do what you do and don’t make movies because you %&*^ at it.

I have been so hyped up about this remake because it was directed by rob zombie, i was dying to see this movie, when i finally saw this movie i thought it was awsome but.....i was pretty disturbed by the constant nudity and sexuality throughout the movie, rob did an awsome job of showing more background story of michael meyers when he was boy, he had a nasty, evil childhood before turing into a evil & famous masked serial killer. I was impressed on how rob wanted micheal meyers to be a aggressive & intense motherf**** which it was suppose to be. One big thing to point out is, rob got some serious issues with nudity he needs to stop showing too much of that. I have the original version of halloween and its awsome, I WILL DEFINATELY PICK UP ROB ZOMBIE'S VERSION.

This movie was great. I always watch horror movies and I never get scared. But I was jumping out of my seat with this movie. It's by far my favorite horror movie. I love Rob Zombie and his movies. Zombie has scored another classis.

I'm well in my 30s and from the generation of the old school horror genre...when John Carpenter reigned supreme. These guys who try to remake the classics like The Fog (horrible remake) and Halloween surprise me with either their lack of respect or lack of understanding for what made those movies unique. This version psychoanalyzes Michael M.s behavior and sets him in a white trash, turbulant childhood which later results in his murderous ways. When what was SO absolutely horrifying about the original was that there was NO explanation...he was just EVIL! And what happened to the viriginal heroine genre??? The reason the heroine survived was equally tied to her innocence. Hence the good vs. evil. It was a thought that kept me chaste through my formitive years, that is for sure. The message was drink, party and have lots of sex and you're in trouble. But I guess I shouldn't expect Rob Zombie to be the mastermind that John Carpenter was. That kind of creativity is rare...which is probably why he had to do a recreation of a classic in stead of creating his own.

This movie was terrible, but my main complaint is that it just wasn't even SCARY. Isn't that what horror movies are supposed to be about - scaring people? Not one time did I jump or slouch down into my seat or scream out loud or get the chills. Mostly my friend and I just laughed at how ridiculous it all was. I am a true horror fan and that is what is most disappointing about the new films is that they are not scary but just depressing. When I left I wasn't coming down from the thrill of being scared. Instead I felt just sort of empty and sad and tired - and mad that I would never get those two hours or my money back. It was like going to a carnival and riding a ride that took you through the slums of Chicago or down an alley to see the homeless. I go to movies to be entertained and to escape reality, I sure as hell don't want to pay money to be reminded of how sad things are - oh, and then see blood and ta-ta's. I wish we could maybe come up with two genres and have scary ones classified as "horror" and bloody naked ones as "gore". And then people would know going in what they were going to be watching and could choose accordingly.

If the original Halloween was 4.5 to 5 stars, then this one is 3.5 to 4 stars. I thought it was a good movie with some good scare scenes in the second half. The childhood take on Michael was interesting. There wasn't the hide and seek with Michael as much in this movie and I thought that was a great benefit to the first one. Zombie did a good job and I look forward to seeing the next one.

Well I must say that this was a great movie...big come up for Rob Zombie...he learned a lot from his last flop films. Halloween was scary, bloody, gory, disturbing, jumpy and etc....everything you want in a horror flick. There were a few differences in this movie when compared to the original...but who would want to see a complete word 4 word and storyline of the original huh? Add some spice & twists and keep me guessing. Good horror movie of the year so far...I went to see this twice! Can't wait for the sequels.

Generally, I liked the movie. However, I was disappointed that Zombie strayed from some of the storyline already set forth in the other movies (i.e. Michael stabs his mother after trick-or-treating...she didn't blow her brains out)! I just had a hard time following some of the plot because the storylines didn't match up. But overall -- good flick.

I can say that I typically hate Rob Zombie movies because House of 1000 Corpses and The Devil's Rejects were by far two of my worst ever! But how do you NOT go see Halloween when you love Horror? That disgusting man has completely redeemed himself! I LOVED this movie! I can appreciate how different this movie was from the original because I know that Zombie is dark. I spent a lot of my time jumping and grabbing onto my boyfriend's arm. This movie was ACTUALLY scary, I've never really seen Michael Myers being as evil as this movie honestly portrays, and that makes for really good horror. And the acting was good in this too. I haven't heard a good screaming chick since Jessica Biel in 2003's Texas Chainsaw Massacre; the Young Laurie was awesome! A Good, Scary movie. Worth the 8 bucks.

I dont understand one of the reviews saying that rob Zombie didn't mention Michael Myers going after his neice Jamie. If you remember Jamie was Lauries daughter in the 4th movie, not one of his victims in this remake. Anyone who has watched any of the other movies, other than the original, would know this. The storyline with Jamie was that she was living with her foster family after her mother "died" which of course later we find out that she's been lining in hiding for 20 years .Anyway I loved the re-make. It really made Michael seem more realistic and more like a real person than a crazy lunatic unstoppable "Jason Voorhes" type character with supernatural powers. But who knows, maybe there will another and Rob Zombie will take it to the next level like he did with his other films.
