I have become a little disappointed lately just because I feel there are too many main charcters and the storylines have gotten a little soap operaish. I only pray that as I am going under anaesthesia some fine day I am not losing conciousness counting backwards from 100 listening to the self-absorbed soap-opera conversation of people standing over me with scalpels who couldnt have gotten through medical school even with Cliffs Notes. So hooked that I bought the DVDs and watched every episond. It may help for newcomers to buy or rent Season 1 and Season 2 and watch from the beginning. The genius behind the show is how the relationships form and that color doesnt play a part in those relationships. We get insight into the characters from episode 1 of season 1, so I think its premature to write a less than fabulous review for a wonderful show that you get involved with late.
Im a bit disappointed, however, with the Season 3 premiere only because the show had been so well written for two seasons that the flashbacks were unnecessary. Plus, in the flashbacks you could tell there physical changes in the actors that were done after season 2- hair cuts and such. And, Addison and Mark made it seem as if Derek just walked out without showing no real emotion in the flashback, he did care!
Izzie will be back in Season 3, but my guess is she will be the new Cristina, Cristina will likely become more like the Izzie and Dr. Bailey did something or omitted to do something, causing Dennys death and Meredith will not choose either man. Derek will leave Addison. These are just guesses. This is a wonderful show, well written, well casted. Shonda Rhimes is wonderful at what she does. Was this review helpful? Maybe by the time I started watching I expected too much. Its an ok show but I dont die to see the next episode. Its basically a glorified General Hospital thats on during prime time. There are certain shows that I thought were super innovative, like My so called life and 6 feet under, even 90210 was very different when it first came out then everyone started copying format (as was done with my so called life). Every person on the show deserves an award. The writing and performances are wonderful. The chemistry between Meredith and Derek is great and keeps you guessing. Ill continue watching every episode again this season and can hardly wait for the season to start!!! Keep up the good work!!!!
