I have alot of memorabilia and collectables. I did a book report on it when I was a freshman in high school 1966. I hadn't seen the movie. I used to be able to do all the dialogue for every character in the movie. Now only a few. LOL! We used to have GWTW parties every November, unfortunately I don't know of anyone around here that is as much of a fan as I am. So Sorry to hear about Ann Rutherford's passing. She did live a long life. Was this review helpful? If you submit feedback on this review in the future, we will overwrite your previous feedback. I hated, hated, hated, after seeing this atrocity only once!

Vivien Leigh was amazing and the chemistry between she and Clark Gable was there. I think this one does diserve to stay on the "Classic" list. Was this review helpful? Sign in 1 out of 4 users found this helpful Posted: 2/16/2006A review of Gone With the Wind by MusicGirl The book is my favorite book of all time, and everyone told me the movie was so great and I should really see it. So I watched it. And I know you cant fit all the stuff that happens in a 1000 page book into a movie, but really, this movie left much to be desired. The characters did not seem very real at all, Scarlett seemed too off in her own world, when in the book she was very concerned with being able to keep Tara. And Melanie seemed really fake in the movie. I even rented the movie again, thinking I must have missed something the first time. I couldnt even get through the first scene! Was this review helpful? One of the got to see movies.
The actors, the settings, and the presentation are all worthy of recognition in any persons lifetime.
The movie depicts the South in all its grandure, and continues through the picture to contrast and frame Southern and Northern reaction of the Civil War. Was this review helpful? "Gone With the Wind" defines the word classic. Everything is spectacular - the scenery is beautiful and epic, the characters are riveting and true to the novel, the costumes, the music, the drama ... Vivien Leigh and Clark Gable were astounding! I've seen it too many times to count, but every time I know I'm experiencing something magnificent. Everybody should see this masterpiece at least once in their lifetime or they're missing out. I promise you'll love it. Was this review helpful? Vivien Leigh, a previously unknown actress, gave a lot to the movie. Clark Gable represents a time in Hollywood when there was actually talent, not like the very young stars that will be taking over Hollywood (Hillary Duff, the Olsen twins) and in my mind, ruining it. I think that he really deserved an Oscar for the role, because in my mind, he portrayed Rhett Butler perfectly. The movie is faithful to the book, and I think that it was really well made. I'd recommend it to anyone. Was this review helpful? If you submit feedback on this review in the future, we will overwrite your previous feedback. She brought me.

I was transfixed. I remember the first time I saw the movie as if it were yesterday. Really, what IS the big deal? This movie pretty much sucks. What does this Clark Gable guy got that Clint Eastwood or John Wayne doesn't? The acting is silly, the story is pathetically innacurate, and it's too damn long. Was this review helpful?
