The movie Goldfinger is what James Bond 007 is all about. This is more than just classic Bond, everything about this movie is perfect. A best James Bond movie from the best of times.

I couldn't say that this movie was excellent. I just had to say perfect. Sean Connery is amazing.

This is the best ever for Ian and Sean. A perfect film. I have virtually seen it about 50 times.

The best villain, in over-the-top Gert Frobe, as Auric Goldfinger, styling on the links. The best henchman, Harold Sakata as the silent, dapper Oddjob and his hat to-die-with. The sexiest women, topped by bodacious Honor Blackman as the silliest named character. The most arresting image, gold-covered Shirley Eaton. The best theme song, delivered with panache by Shirley Bassey. The coolest car, a fully equipped Aston Martin, and the latest technology, a laser, before such gadgets became routine. Even the best line, `Why, no, Mr. Bond, I expect you to die.' With all that going for it, it's no wonder that Goldfinger remains a hoot, one of the most enjoyable of the Bond series. As the movie that really established the formula, though, it does begin the over-injection of camp that would dominate some succeeding installments. Notably, the casual Swinging Sixties sexism has aged poorly. But perhaps the major point of Goldfinger is that it's a spy spoof. To a great extent, its campiness predicts Mike Myers' Austin Powers. (For example, Fort Knox is apparently held by the 102nd Fighting Mimes, given the response to Goldfinger's attack.) The downside is this makes it a less successful action film than `From Russia with Love,' `For Your Eyes Only' and the Dalton films. But it's still top-flight Bond.

This is good, but it is not the best 007 film like everyone seems to think. Personally, i thought it lacked a little in action. Still though, the plot stands out amongst other Bond films.

This movie definately had more things than Dr. No. Bond had just enough gadgets to keep this one interesting and the acting was excellent. There was enough action to keep you awake as well. This is one of the better of the Bonds.

While not a huge fan of Connery bond films, this one was very good and his best. Excellent villian in Goldfinger with good spy/action screenplay. I really like the scene on the golf course between Bond and Goldfinger each subliminally jockeying for the upper hand. Great ending scene as well. This one is worth owning.

This Bond film, more so than other Connery or subsequent Bond films, introduced fear to the audience. Anybody who gets in Auric Goldfinger's way, or does something against his wishes(male or female) is killed with vicious brutality, no questions asked. And unlike other movies, Bond usually doesn't have a chance to save them. The ever efficient Oddjob does the dirty work in effortless ease, a scary thought, and the lasting image from this film for me, is Oddjob making a kill with his hat as the victim tries in vain to run away. The classic laser scene comes a close second. Bond has to be resourceful to outsmart Goldfinger, who has been planning a raid on Fort Knox for years.... If you haven't seen this one, then shame on you!
