It's one of my all time favorite films. The Ghostbusters are the dream team of comedy, next to the Three Stooges. Hilarious. I give it a 9.3 out of 10. If you haven't seen this movie, go rent it. Right now. Was this review helpful? Sign In 0 out of 0 users found this helpful Posted: 4/14/2006A review of Ghostbusters by Disappointed_Critic This movie is a classic. It seriously is. If anyone hates this movie, then you can just get out of my life and shut up. But, this is truely the greatest movie out of both films. Ghostbusters was released in theaters a few months after I was born. You just cant get any better than this. The entire movie is worthy of every praise it got, because its just so damn brilliant, even the theme song gets stuck in your head that you cant help but love it. Its one of the greatest movies ever in the history of film making. Its just too awesome. I will always love this movie. Was this review helpful? Save for the special effects which show signs of dating, the genre-hybridity, the acting and the music are the greatest accomplishments of this film.

It's funny in the right places (Bill Murray and Rick Moranis notably), mockingly sentimental in the right places (Bill Murray), sexy in the right places (Sigourney Weaver), and actually downright scary (well, it is about ghosts isn't it!)

The music provides the effective juxtaposition between the comedy and the scary feeling. The best track after the title theme is 'Magic' by Mick Smiley.

My all-time favourite film. Was this review helpful? They can also be found on Swing Alive, a soundtrack/DVD/PBS special, on Drive Entertainment, which features the brothers in an appearance with Les Brown and his band. Kevin's compostional work has also been featured in the KCRW production of Black Betty, a nine hour radio play. Was this review helpful? Considering that at the time of the release in 1984, the composers of the musical score only had 4 months to put it together, it was fantastic. That, coupled with the special effects, was a spectacular accomplishment. Ghostbusters is my all-time personal favorite, and a must see! Was this review helpful? Sign In 1-9 of 9 Per Page | ||
