Most people think she lacks talent and that she has not done a good movie since the Parent Trap! I beg to differ!!!Along with "Mean Girls" Georgia Rule is one of my favorite movies!Very Witty! Sure it has the most random cast of people and Lindsay did have her problems with the director because of her "exhaustion" or hangovers as i like to call them, but I think she played the character very well. The subject matter of the movie was portrayed in a way to let people who are victims of sexual abuse not feel embarrased to tell a family memember because in the end they will help you. This movie has a sense of comic rellief to lighten the load of the subject matter which in a way i think helps people to become vocal, Granted sexual abuse is no laughing matter in anyway shape or form but it may help....Aside from the whole sexual abuse thing Lohan plays a teenage girl to a T! She is about to attend college, her mother is an alcoholic and has been remarried and pays no attention to her...what else can she do BUT REBEL... in a way in almost portrays her REAL LIFE scenario..I think Marshall casted the right person for that part. I think this movie is worth seeing and when watching it RULE out any opinion you have on LaLohan ( you try being a childhood celeb...not any one of them are in thier "right minds") Give her a break! I was ready to sit back and enjoy a good movie but this came nowhere even close! In front of me were 4 older (60+) women that gasped when Lohan took off her panties and told the guy he could touch. I could tell they were just as mortified and horrified by this flick as I was. By the end of the movie I truly didn't care if she was raped by her stepdad or not! I just wanted the torture to end! Now I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. By no means do I want anyone to believe that I am a Lindsay Lohan fan but I have to give her props on her performance in the movie. All of the performances were really good. This surely isnt the sweet movie that it appears to be in the previews but it is a very moving film and anyone that is the right age would appreciate it. I saw it in the movie theater with 21 other people and we ALL (guys and girls) loved it!!!!!!!! A week later I went and saw it with my mom, and she cried. It had a great story line and a combination of funny and serious moments which balanced out the movie very well. Even my boyfriend liked it and that says a lot. He doesnt get into many movies. I would have gotten up and left except that I didnt want to upset her. What a load, hanoi jane plays a conservative with values and rules. Makes you want to barf! All I saw was her sitting in an antiaircraft gun pretending to shoot down American Military Pilots. No wonder the movie tanked, America never forgets, and never forgives. Was this review helpful? Yeah, I expected just a simple light-hearted comedy from the trailer - but its so much more than that. Its funny, and sad, and heartwarming, and unexpected, and I cant get it out of my head, even two days later. Lindey Lohan is amazing in it, and Felicity Huffman and Jane Fonda are both excellent.
Lindsey Lohans character does shocking things - I dont shock easily, but I was definitely a little disturbed. But as the character got used to her new surroundings, suddenly the truth started to come out, and everything started to make sense.
I see reviews below where people are characterizing her role as a tramp, and I question whether those people sat through the whole movie, because if thats all you got out of it, you REALLY missed the whole point. And you missed a great movie, and thats too bad.

And to top it off, a couple rows behind me sat a mother with her 9 year old son. I cant believe that any of these actresses thought this was a good script. Also, playing a teenage tramp is not the best way to adjust a degrading public image. In all this movie was boring and dumb. Save your money and go out for a nice dinner instead.
