I might have found 2 times where I actually felt the comedy deserved a chuckle but that was it. I was deeply disappointed that Judds' movie contained no humor given his past films and the fact this film has a cast that should have made it great. Of the 11 people in the theatre (small town Thursday night), only 7 remained when the film was completed. There was one point that night when I did laugh. It was during sleep when I had dream about eating jello at a wedding reception. At least at that moment I did not have to fork over any money for admission. Was this review helpful? This movie was not funny at all and all the 'comedians' wouldn't stop saying stupid crotch jokes. Profanity was used way too much, there was no plotline, and this movie was WAY too long. The only thing funny about this movie is that you can't believe you actually wasted $8 and two-and-a-half hours to watch this medicore excuse of enterainment. It's not even deserving of this one star, but you have to have atleast a one star rating.
And if you don't understand how bad this movie is yet, this is how bad it is: I would rather watch Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen again than see Funny People. Yes, it's that bad. I expect more of Judd Apatow from what i've seen in his earlier work and there has been costant reviews of how this movie was all about dicks. That did get a little old but i had to admit there were some funny parts and there was a good amount of comedy that wasnt related to that that was amusing like the many cameo appearences of celebrities and comedians. And the length. This movie was long,about 2hrs.and 25 min. which is long for this kind of movie. When it comes down to if you should see it or not well that all depends on how much you like Seth Rogen and Judd Apatow's writing if not wait for this one to come out on dvd. Was this review helpful? This movie is rated R, but should be rated X, for the awful crude language. I hope NOONE takes their children to this. I was totally appalled at the nasty crude words and meanings. The comedy is not funny at all. There was a little story hidden in the nastiness, but not enough to be called fair. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!!!! HAHA NOT Funny!!!!! Was this review helpful? Over half of the audience in my theater walked out before the credits had even started. If you like movies that talk about nothing, but dicks and balls then this is your movie. A long movie but good. i dont know why all of these people are stressing over "Foul Language". It's rated R for a reason. I don't read the critic reviews, they are a waste. However, I noticed there were only 6 reviews total and an average user reviewing of 4 stars.
I count 11 stars total, divide that by 6 reviews, and the average user review is more like 1.83 stars. I'll stop using this site if it is rigged, many people probably read a review or two and see oh it has an average of 4 stars let's go see it. This is FUBAR!

Not only was the language foul, the supposed jokes were not funny at all. Every comedian in the movie told lame and crude jokes. In one line in the movie, a singer asked if the comedian ever got tired of talking about his "d--k". None of the characters caught on. Horrible movie and a waste of time. Was this review helpful? With some funny part and some serious part it started to look like a reflection of Adams real life. Dysfunction in progress just does not make for good entertainment.
