Dick Harper who after years of work, is finally promoted to vice president of media company Globodyne. But after one day on the job, the company goes down in flames. He and his wife, Jane, suddenly cant maintain their lifestyle, and Dicks tarnished rep leaves him unable to find a job. So they turn to a life of crime to pay the bills.
Fun with Dick and Jane is a remake of the 1977 version staring George Segal and Jane Fonda. I have never seen the 1970s verison just the new one and I liked it. Some critics and the fans are not really liking this movie but I think that it is something to watch. People are saying why remake this movie? Well why not? I mean remakes are fun. And this is one of the better remakes. I like remakes because it is taking an older film and adding new comedy and new stars and making it better.
This distance between Dick and Jane to their son, who receives no development beyond the fact that he speaks only Spanish from the nanny of the family. Really makes it seem that they are not good parents because the nanny is raising there son.
Alec Baldwin was a big screen star but lately he has been getting small roles in movies like Fun with Dick and Jane , Elizabethtown and Along Came Polly and he has been good in all those roles but he is not the star he once was.
Fun With Dick and Jane fits this title perfectly because it is exactly what the movie is about. I think that the title really draws people into the movie. And the title for a movie has to fit the movie.
Jim Carry is one of the funniest actors around he has been in hit movies like ETERNAL SUNSHINE OF THE SPOTLESS MIND and BRUCE ALMIGHTY both film were big hits. I think that Jim Carry gives his best performance in one of his best movies.
Fun With Dick and Jane really is a FUN movie.
Fun With Dick and Jane is a Winning Comedy.

a movie with very forceful jokes and comic scenes...
a dissapointment for jim carrey fans.

Also because I just dont understand why Jim Carrey would stoop so low as to want to steal his way through life in this movie. I mean, come on, Jim. Youre better than that. The only thing I could think of this movie is how stupid it could of been. I mean, I seriously think Tea Leoni had to have been bribed or something to say the one line that kept me up at all hours of the night. And Im sure everyone knows which line it is. If not, its the line where she says, We may be in a bit of a pickle, Dick. OK, whatever. But one day, their life becomes an American nightmare.
When the company Dick works for turns out to have been using dishonest accounting methods to conceal the fact that theyve been losing money in large amounts, and Dick has been made the culprit for some of their filthy dealings. Dick and Jane are strained with the vision of losing the whole lot.
Taking a lesson from his crooked boss, though, Dick hits on a brilliant idea If stealing was good enough for his boss, then its good enough for him as well. Using his brand new skills, he and Jane fix on to demand hilarious reprisal and teach big business a lesson for what it has done with them.

Jim Carey can be a very funny person when he is not trying to win an academy award, but the depiction of being unemployed and destitute mitigated against the humor of the film, and it has a Hollywood ending. Its fluff, but I can remember when even Jim Careys comedic fluff had edge. Was this review helpful? This was a very entertaining movie. I am usually not a Jim Carry fan but he did a great job in this movie. My husband and I saw the movie twice(laugh uncontrolable both times) and my teenage kids saw it and enjoyed it as well. I will buy the DVD when available. Its one of those movies you can watch over and over and still laugh. I agree with one of the other reviewers, if you laughed at wedding crashers you will laugh at this movie as well.
My husband and I used several of the lines in the movie during the week on each other. Im a harden crimminal. Was this review helpful? The storyline is very beleivable and realistic, and its great that the characters stay so optimistic throughout the movie, it makes the movie even funnier to watch. Its a great movie.
