It was kinda fake, but hey, you cant kill people just for a movie. I thought it was great. There was a lot of graphic scenes in it, but overall it really keeps you hanging and clutching your chair. Very exciting! Johnny Depp is a very talented actor and was excellent in this film as was his co-star, Heather Graham (She is by far the hottest prostitute I've ever seen!) The cinematography in this film is, quite frankly, astonishing. The detail the Hughes' went to to make an accurate portrayal of Elizabethan Whitechapel is amazing and it certainly plays a huge part in the film's effectiveness. Excellent sound and musical score as well. A great DVD to own with tons of extras! Turn it up!!!!! Was this review helpful? Well the Hughes Brothers have seem to breathe some life back into the this topic. It actually touched on a very controversial belief on who Jack the Ripper was. Johhny Depp's acting was spectacular as ever. No one can do the macabre as good as Depp. Heather Graham performance was as beautiful as she is. At first I didn't expect too much from this movie but after a while I was on the edge of my sit. Do yourself a favor and see this one. Was this review helpful?
