I think the characters were superb and exceptional for this horror movie. One thing that scared me the most when I first saw it was when that Asian kid got killed, and the fact that he exploded when he did. Maybe that was a little too Hollywood, but it made the movie look weak. Its still a good movie though. I was only 11 when this came out, but I didnt get to see it until I was maybe 13. It scared me then, but now, it doesnt scare me at all, even though I was told not to watch it. I think George Clooney and Quentin Tarantino were the greatest characters in this movie. Shame that Quentin dies in this movie. The quote that I think was what could define my life was said by Clooney. Here is the love I could not give you in real life. then he killed Tarrantino. If you ask me, I think Tarrantinos vampire makeup looked great. And as for the five star rating, is because this movie cant be beaten by any other movie. Was this review helpful? But for a vampire horror film its more like a 3 or 3.5. I seen a little of it one tv one time and thought it looked so freaking stupid. Then I wanted to see how bad they hated this movie on here. sence no one hated it I thought mabey the part I seen was stupid. So the next time I got to watch it I did. This is a cool movie even for a vampire movie (which I hate). Clooney's acting was great to me. But remember I said I thought it looked stupid. Well thats because the scene that I saw was the first vampire scene and I thought that was just plane stupid and horrable. But the rest was really cool. Was this review helpful? If you are shooting to have a good fun at a movie but are getting tired of action movies about cops, drug dealer, cyberspace... then this will provide fresh shock. Critics complained majorly about this film not staying with one genere all the way through. True but there is a diiference between a film that loses a direction and a film that intentionally changes its direction. This film is outrageous to many people interms of its concept. That's what makes this so great. If you are still concerned about what the critics said aboutthis movie, ask your self when was the last time any critics praised a horror film or action film in that matter. They are made to be purely entertaining not to be artistic like 'Hours' or 'Piano'.. And yet those critics apply same standards reviewing these films and make it sound like they are not even worth peeking at them. This is , one thing though, a true guy film and also it moves very fast. It dosen't give much time to analyze characters in details. It pretty much throws incidences at you and when you are just about to think, another scene comes with a shock. You could generalize or typecast each character but that's about it. This is not one of those films that lets you dictate your thinking process while you are watcing. It dictates you and despite that, at the end of watching it you'll be overwhemled with a smile. The plot of this film has a complete 180 degree turn in the middle of the film. Clooney's performance takes over from the begining of the film and it continues to be dominant until the end credits show up.
