Jennifer Aniston, Frances McDormand, Joan Cusack and Catherine Keener star in Friends With Money it tells the story of Olivia who quit her teaching job and now cleans houses for a living while. Her three friends are more fortunate, at least with their money. Jane is a successful designer, but shes growing apart from her husband, Aaron. Christine is a screenwriter, but her spouse, Patrick is getting grouchier by the day. Franny and Matt are independently wealthy, but all the extra money has left them bored and alienated. We all wish we had lots of money and we all know people who do. And if we imagined that we did would we act the same way, talk to our old friends, that was one of the questions in Friends With Money. Do You Think We Would Still Be Friends?( We meaning Frances Mcdormand and Jennifer Aniston.) Frances Mcdormand had asked her husband that and she had answered No I Dont Think So. Different people, different lives different jobs and careers but how does everyone relate to each other in this movie. Well everyone has problems and something to complain about. And it all makes sense life is not fair. Nicole Holofcener directs this movie almost like Crash having everyones individual life told as its own story. Twice during the movie everyone gets together for dinner and then for a fund-raiser. After dinner they show them driving home sharing there feeling of the night with their spouses. Friends with money is a whole different kind of comedy almost like a Woody Allen comedy its not like laugh out loud roll all over the floor funny. Friends with Money has a tone that makes you smile of laugh inside. I give this movie five stars I would give it four and a half stars but I cant do that so five is fine. I enjoyed this movie so much but only to a point. Will I tell people to see this movie? Yes Will I tell people to buy this movie? Yes Will this movie ever show up on my best movies of 2006 list? No

This movie was a huge let down. It was soo boring you could hardly stay awake! I was glad we didnt pay full price admission at the theater. I wouldnt even rent it on a free rental basis. This was one of the WORST films I have ever Seen. Thank Goodness Jen redeemed herself with The Break up

Saw all of the 1 star reviews. Jeeze. Pick your movies better if its going to bum you out so much. I sat up in my seat for the whole movie I loved it so much. I write scripts and this is, as far as Im concerned, brilliant. Its counter the spoon feeding style story-telling in most American movies where you focus on one character and we see them slowly make their way to some kind of progress and if its a woman its almost always about can she get the man. This is not that. This is much more organic, real, a slice of life - - you enter at no logical point and leave at no logical point. You basically have a crash into the lives of these women, get deeply into their world, and just as abruptly you leave. It was so intimate and real, I felt so often, Oh, yeah, I do that too. And at the same time, so many unattractive and yet true sides of life and again, it was so rich and detailed and intelligent. Most films youre lucky to get more than two thoughts in the whole thing. I left with my friend and we talked about it the whole way home and then I thought about it many days after.

I thought this movie would be intelligent and deeply emotional. Boy was I wrong!!! It was so superficial about rich people who had everything and were complaining about their lives and looking down at one of their friends who was had to work for a living- duh!!! This was a trifling, boring movie!! ALmost could not sit through it!!!!!

Well I have to add my two cents worth on this movie...Sad,Sad, Sad! The actors were sad, and so were my wife and I after seeing it. They were all a bunch of whiners! We stayed through the whole thing, hoping that it might get better, but it never did. The best thing about this movie was the popcorn. Maybe it is asking too much for an actress like Jennifer Aniston to take parts that are a little more of a role model for all the teeny boppers who look up to her. In this movie she plays such a slutty role that it is hard to have any sympathy for her character. I wouldnt even recommend this movie to someone I didnt like.

Angelenos do not need to be entertained by the strange antics of the characters in this film because it is stuff you see all the time here, especially if you work in retail. The Old Navy scene, where Frances McDormand throws a fit is a typical occurance. I sat through the entire movie because it is reassuring to see how money cannot be enough to provide happiness. In short, it made me feel better about not being consumed by financial worries, yet. It was frustrating how everything was left up in the air, how relationships were just forming when the movie was about to end. Finally it is never explained how the women know each other. Although they all are neurotic and unhappy, I couldnt see any reason why they would have become friends in the first place.

This movie, I would have to say, is safely the worst movie Ive ever seen. I dont know how we managed to stay through all of it, but we did. We should have known when we showed up to the movie theatre at one of the busiest show times and my boyfriend and I were the only two in the theatre. We saw it because Im a huge Jennifer Aniston fan (still am!), but the writers of this movie had absolutely no concept of a plotline. That, actually, is probably the reason why we stayed through the whole thing. We kept thinking that the plot would thicken. Well, it didnt. Bad, bad, bad. I dont understand why some critics actually liked this movie.

This movie was very adult. It was basically about 4 couples who complain about their lives. All they talk about are boring things like numbers and money. Theyre so gossipy. I hated all the characters, except one, Aaron, because he complained the least out of all of them and he actually was a cute person. Everyone else I absolutely hated. This movie made me really dislike adults, especially women, even though I am one myself. They were so whiny and unpleasant. This movie made me feel kind of lousy and I was very happy to leave the theater. This was my punishment for failing to preorder DaVinci Code tickets haha. But seriously, unless youre a very depressed, boring adult, dont see this movie.

Ok, I havent even seen this movie yet (the 1 star is a lie), but I cannot get over how many bombs Jennifer Aniston has made! The previous reviewer implied that this is her first. Have we forgotten The Good Girl, Derailed and the oh-so irritating Rumor Has It ????? Can we please stop pretending that every TV star can make it on the big screen and vice-versa? Its time to define acting for what it really is. Post-Friends, Jennifer Aniston has not moved one tenth of an inch from her comfort zone of these so-called romantic comedies. And I dont think she ever will.

This movie had no business being called a Comedy. Ms. Aniston has finally had her first major flop. This movie was about everday life at any adult age. The only difference is that rich people are even more pathetic in how they attempt to handle family problems. If rich people had a real family crisis they would seek the help of expensive lawyer or shrink that could not help them. This movie didnt expose anything new about life, it was about some movie writer or producer hoping Ms. Aniston would make their movie rock. Well, boys and girls it didnt and now Ms. Aniston has the black eye. I cant even name any of the other cast members. If you really dislike someone take them to this movie.

The worst movie I have seen in quite a long time or ever. No real plot, no comedy to speak of, just plain boring. How could Jennifer Aniston accept such a lame script? If this doesnt drag her career down I dont know what will. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY, IT STINKS!!!!! Other people in the theater couldnt believe how bad it was!!

If you are not at least in your mid-thirties you will not get anything out of this movie, so do not bother seeing it. You really need at least 15 or 20 post college years under you belt before this movie you will resonate with you at all. As a woman in that 35 and above range, I found this movie really interesting. It is not particulary funny, certainly not uplifting, pretty leisurely paced, and with a lot of characters who mostly made me feel irritated and impatient. But it is a very true slice of life in which I can see my life and the lives of my married friends.

The worst! Totally unbelieveable characters, no plot-- just a lot of whining by personalities that are so shallow it is impossible to muster a bit of empathy. A complete waste of my time. I can not decide where to place the blame, the actors, the writers or the poor saps who funded it... Just plain bad all around, save your money.
