Why the hxll did he keep da girl n didn't kill her? Also, TOO MUCH p0rn. I mean, is really p0rn needed in a "horror" film? Anywayz the endin' was awesome, i could describe it funny. The 1980 version of "Friday the 13th" was so original for it's time. The killer was a regular, normal looking Mom (Mrs Vorhees), a fact that was saved until the end of the movie, not revealed in the first 2 minutes. The last seen where Alice is in the hospital asking about the boy in the lake and the police tell her they didn't find a boy - classic! When she says "then he's still out there" and they switch to a beautiful scene of a calm lake - what an opening for a sequel. Skip this version and rent the original plus Part II. Doing a remake of this was probably very difficult to do, but he did a really fine job!
He handles all of his actors very well as well.

You'd think a movie with so many sequels would finally have a decent story especially now that it was ressurected in modern times. They really droped the ball story wise. I have seen it 4 times already! It is that great! and I can't wait until it comes out on DVD. If you haven't seen it yet... you should! Micheal Bay did a great job... Sign In 1 out of 1 users found this helpful Takes me back...Posted: 2/27/2009A review of Friday the 13th by RDD1984 I can understand why some of the younger viewers might find this film unentertaining. Given today's standards of horror films, it's quite light on the gore viewers expect from the genre today. However, I'm 42 and could not wait to see this film for nothing more than the nostalgia and some good plain fun of it. I think my generation would have a greater appreciation for this film, especially if they are fans of the early 80s horror films. Having seen all of the Friday The 13th films, I found the first 4 to be the most entertaining (through 1984.) I think this film captured the essence of those first films (or at least a nod to the first 3.) I think it's kind of a "wink" to our whole generation. People were actually clapping at the end of this movie. People in their late 30s and 40s...Not because it was such a great film but because we recaptured our youth for 90 or so minutes.
