Just when you started to figure out the truth, the movie would pull a crazy twist that would have you saying "No way! What the eff happened!?!"
If you really like a movie that keeps me guessing and on your toes, this is it! Was this review helpful? Sign In 0 out of 0 users found this helpful A very well-made movie. Great job by Paxton on both sides of the camera. Outstanding plot and character development. This movie will keep you guessing to the end. A VERY underrated movie. Was this review helpful? Sign In 3 out of 3 users found this helpful i didnt think this movie was very scary (although seeing bill paxton as a murderer kinda freaked me out) but it was definitally very well-done, i thought it was brilliant. makes you wonder, how far would you go for god? and if your own dad was killing people, thinking they were demons, what would you do, would you believe him? great acting, too. Sign In 1 out of 1 users found this helpful Posted: 10/4/2003A review of Frailty by killagiant this film directed by bill paxton is a classic thriller keeps you on the edge of your seat. bill paxton is scary the whole thing is scary right to the end credits. the ending will have thinking for hours about how that could be. bill paxton should and could make another masterpiece. see tis film Was this review helpful? Sign In 0 out of 0 users found this helpful This is the movie of last year. From beginning to end, this movie delivers, Bill Paxton (actor, director) never afraid to pull punches as well as strike one home when necessary. If this is the sort of movie Paxton can direct first time out, someone slap that man into the director's chair permanently and don't let him out!

Frailty is a dark and moody film, full of depth and character and not one to take your grandmother to see. Labeled by some as a 'rubbish horror', this speaks more for the taste of the reviewer rather than the film.

Bill Paxton is supported by the reliable Matthew McConnaughty and excellent young actors Matt O'Leary and Jeremy Sumpter. The funny thing about Matthew McConaughty is that he sandwiches himself between movies devoid of substance and quality ('The Wedding Planner', 'How to lose a Guy in 10 days' - not that these movies are utterly dreadful, but they have no weight) and movies such as 'Frailty' which are overflowing with both. Maybe it's a money thing, but if he were to stick to movies such as this, he would be an actor of a formidable reckoning, though he mightn't have the dosh.

I won't give away the plot of the film, but I will say this: we're into the years of the Twist, which resurfaced with 'The Sixth Sense' and has become almost as important to movie makers now as the Tarantino era in the nineties. In other words, twists are way, way overused nowadays and it was to my relief that Frailty, although it's not without it's twists, did not have the highly predictable one I thought we were going to see.

Anyway, see this movie! You just gotta!
Was this review helpful? Sign In 0 out of 1 users found this helpful Posted: 6/15/2003A review of Frailty by bobbles8806 This was an excellent movie. Was this review helpful? Sign In 0 out of 0 users found this helpful The fear of impending doom is what really made this a good movie. Also the fact that everyone is left to use their own imagination during certain scenes. Wow, in our desensitized world it was cool to watch a ";smart"; suspense thriller and not have blood and gore fill up the story line. All the actors were brilliant, especially those two young boys. But I don't want to give the story away..let me just say, I am a huge fan of Matthew's but I didn't even know he'd made this movie until I was surfing the net and read the synopsis of the movie and other peoples' reviews... and actually it only came to select cities so we really missed out on a great movie..but, had it been at the theaters in my city, I would have went to go see it.. this movie is a true suspense/thriller, check it out you guys, you won't be sorry..it's a real, jaw-dropper Was this review helpful? Sign In 0 out of 1 users found this helpful Posted: 4/4/2003A review of Frailty by CinematicCupid WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH THE WRITER OF THIS MOVIE. HIS MOTHER MUST OF BEEN ON DRUGS. WHAT KIND OF SICK TWISTED MIND COULD COME UP WITH SUCH A SCRY PLOT. THE THING THAT SCARES ME ABOUT THIS MOVIE IS THAT IT IS SOMETHING THAT COULD REALLY HAPPEN. I KEPT THINKING MY NAME WAS NEXT ONTHESE FREAKS LIST. I COULDN'T STOP WATCHING BECAUSE I HAD TO SEE THE END. YOU SCARED ME SHITLESS YOU REDNECK #*($S. Was this review helpful? Sign In 1 out of 1 users found this helpful Easily, one of the best movies I have seen. It is very deep, dark, and mysterious. The viewer is captivated and lost (although the viewer does not know it) at the same time. It solves each riddle with an even more complicated one. It is a refreshing story that is often discussed but not in the manner that was addressed.Bill Paxton (co-star and director) does an excellent job at both parts. The scense flow smoothly from one time-frame to another. He also plays the perfect ";psycopath";. Powers Boothe and Mathew McConneghy both give astounding and powerful performances. Was this review helpful? Sign In 1 out of 1 users found this helpful rented this movie w/o knowing anything about it. Really suprised by how good it is. The beginning is very good but I began to wonder where it was going. The last part of the movie brings it all together well. Refreshing suspense movie bordering on the horror genre. Didn't think anyone put any effort in these type of movies anymore. If you can't find anything in the movie store, get this one. You will not be disappointed. Was this review helpful? Sign In 0 out of 0 users found this helpful If you're a ";twilight-zone"; buff or otherwise enjoy more intelligent style horror movies, you're going to love this one. Excellent twists, and entertaining through the end. If you're looking for ";Jason"; or ";Freddy"; you probably won't get this movie. Otherwise, it's well worth the time. Was this review helpful? Sign In 0 out of 0 users found this helpful Posted: 10/23/2002A review of Frailty by DAVIDK6496 For Paxton's directorial debut, he performs very well in bringing a Hitchcock-like approach to today's horror/suspense genre. Hints of madness followed by the strange and uneasy calm of the characters, gore that is insinuated and not shown, and the surprise ending follows a similar formula to Psycho while mixing an element of today's fascination with the supernatural. I think this movie was not marketed to the extent that it deserved. Yet also, if The Usual Suspects and The Sixth Sense had not created Hollywood's mad dash to cover its lack of originality in recent years (yet has created a new lack of originality by repeating the ";suspenseful movies with hard-to-determine endings"; theme), this movie would have generated and received much more attention. While Paxton's acting may have been a little weak when compared to previous endeavors, he more than makes up for it behind the camera with the other characters' performances and attention to cinematography.
