I was wrong when FOR YOUR EYES ONLY was released and I did see that Roger Moore was at the peak of his career in his best performance as 007. The action, BOND Girls and the main villain, played by Julian Glover, wasnt great, but stil was very good. Carole Bouquets Melina Havelock is perhaps the best BOND Girl in the series, but as far as FOR YOUR EYES ONLY goes, it really picks up speed and keeps you on the edge of your seat! 4 Stars Out of 5 Stars. The locations were good and the action was reasonable. The Bond girls were good as well. The main villain was a letdown - one of the worst villains. Though the film seem to depart quite a bit from the earlier ones in the series by the lack of excessive gadgets and monstrous vilians, it certainly portrays a maturity which appeals to all. The main Bond Girl, rather than being so cheap like most others were, showed a high level of maturity and respect for the womenfolks. A tough film, hard work and brilliant ideas. Thick plot, good stunts, and no corny gadgetry. Roger Moore is great as Bond (smooth, witty, suave) and gets my vote as the best 007. A must-see for the Bond enthusiast. Was this review helpful?
