I have the original version and I still watch it every so often. If I see it on television, I record it and do my housework...what a super movie. No, I would not like it remade. I won't even bother to watch it.

1984. No, not the Classic novel by George Orwell, but the year the Commodore 64 hit the market, good VHS recorders cost $1000, and "Footloose" hit the theaters. There was no internet, no laptop computers, no Netflix, and no cell phones. The original "Footloose" became a classic film of the 1980's... well before many 20-somethings were born! This re-boot of the Kevin Bacon hit is a worthy rendition of the original. I have no problem with an update of such a wonderful family film (ok, it is a "little" suggestive hence the PG-13 rating) which showcases the best of dance, family, drama, and comedy. So what if some of the dialogue was verbatim? Hey, no one complains when The King James Bible is retold as the New International Version! Enjoy this film and let your memory harken to 1984.... we're better off! And we have a faithful cover of a classic from days gone by!
